Rolling the fenders will be one of the last thing that we'll do on my project since we'll also re-paint the car to get ready for the car show season

I believe SOB rolled his fenders out. He has 11" wheels (mine are only 10").....and he did a good job to make sure that the wheels are tucked in .....

Tire size recommendations for the 19x9 in front and 19x9.5 in rear...275 should work but what size sidewall?

Probably 275/30-19 in rear

then run 275 front tires?

since you're running staggered set-up.....and you'll be rolling out your rear fenders?

I have to see if my buddy still has his fender roller...if not then I might just stick with 275's. I just don't want the wheel sticking out of the fender well.

Is there a specific lug nut size for our car...I want black ones but I need to make sure they will fit. I was looking at the ones from Jegs with the measurements of:
Black Acorn/Bulge Acorn
Seat 12mm x 1.5 3/4 Hex 4/pkg.

I am looking at some 18x8 wheels with 38 offset and using stock size tires. From what I can find they would move the tire out by about 1/2 inch Does that sound right

I calculate it out to be 0.67 inches.

i also use 12 x 1.5 on my forgestar....w/o issues..

When I bought my SSRs it wasn't the car that was important it was the wheel that mattered. It has to do with the shape of the nut.

That being said. They may have just known the lug nut size. I'm sure the wheel maker will be happy to help you with this.

There are other factors to consider when discussing wheel offsets. The factory engineers determine what offset is needed to have the centerline of the wheel line up with the centerline of the hub/bearing assemblies. That keeps the loads evenly distributed on the bearings. Changing the offset will then add more load to either the inner or outer bearings...leading to premature bearing failure. If you use your car as a DD and long life is important to you, you'll want to be careful not to venture very far from the OEM design spec.

Just an FYI, the lug nut size for this wheel is 12x1.5 cone seat and 17mm hex head.

Steve, those extra long lug nuts....look good!

but the problem with those "colored" nuts.......they get scratched easily everytime you remove them.

I had those RAYS extra long lug nuts.....and I gave up on them, since they get ugly.....and all scratched up after you remove them.....and tighten them back. Spent $$$....but I ended up removing them..since I'm sick of having them re-powdercoated to keep them look new.

That's ok...I am not planning to have the wheels off often, and I could always get more later on if I need them...hopefully they will stay clean for a while:)

are those open ended? How are you going to clean inside the lug nut? it's going to collect dirt, snow, water... why would they do that? Or am I reading that wrong?

Steve, I suggest using plastic grocery bag when you're installing these lug nuts.

Because you can easily scratch them even on the first time installing them.

Basically put the plastic bag on top of the lug nuts before using your "key" to tighten them. So there's a plastic in between two metals. Don't use power tool........and use the good ol manual torque wrench. This way, it is more controlled and careful.

anyways, this is what I have. I'll have it powdercoated black. If you noticed, the key goes inside the lug nut.......and not around or outside the lug nut. It will not scratch the outside of the nut which is the one I'm always concerned of.

It will come out with a quick spray of water...I wash the car a lot so I am not worried. It will be covered in the snow most of the time.

Just found out that they are not making the 9.5" wheel...only the 10"....so I have to go with a 10" in the rear....question is...what offset should I run with a 10" wheel in the rear?? Help please.

you are just struggling with these new wheels! I have no idea on the offset, but I know some folks have posted offset calculators a few times. I'm guessing google could help with the maths.

1/2" equals 12.7mm, so if you keep your original offset that would add a little over 6.3mm to the inside and the outside of your wheels. Or, if you need the outside to stay where it was, add 12.7mm to the inside (if clearance allows). That would increase your offset by 12.7mm. So just add 12.7mm to your original offset figure. Does that help?

I believe the stock offset is 55mm...correct me if I am wrong...I just dont want them sticking out. I am clueless when it comes to offsets...should I just keep it at 55? I dont think they go higher than 50 or 55.

IMO a 10 inch wheel with a tire on it will stick out of the rear wheel well. You can't adjust the offset enough to tuck it in without rubbing on the inside. 19X9's will fit barely with the right offset discussed before. Adding another 25 mm will either cause the tire to rub inside, or stick out. You can see some 19X10's at performance autowerks site on the car.
