It will go well with the mercury switch that was removed last year!

Nah, the mercury is a different color than her pipes.  They wouldn't go well at all.  What are you, color blind?

This brings up the question of which is better - the GMPP or K&N? Of course, there is the issue of availability. Crate Engine is out of stock, neither does GM, and Crate has been waiting on some to fill orders. Look on e-bay as there are some K&Ns for $275 shipped.

For the K&N you WILL need some MAF spray cleaner as the oil from the filter WILL get back to the MAF. don't use anything else but MAF cleaner - trust me as I KNOW (don't ask!!).

DDM and Dejon have options
Dejon uses an AEM dry filter.

Except they are not currently available. GM is out of stock with no projected fill date !!! Dejon's stuff has had issues in the past (or so I recall) but may be resolved. The K&N works and is available. And, yes, Dave at DDM has them. Sorry I didn't mention that. My bad.

I've had the Dejon pipes for over a year.
No intake issues with the stock turbo
No intake issues with the 2871

I chose it because of the dry filter element and custom powder coating option

I have a GMPP and I love it. Custom powder coating wasn't a problem. I took it off, took it to a custom powder coater in the area and had him coat it.

Where to get one is another issue entirely. You could post a WTB: thread on the Kappa forums and see if someone has one laying around.
Just trying to do my part...
