Initially I couldn't get the plug back in my fan because the brace was too close. I loosened the bolts and pulled the brace back as far as it could go and gave the fan and radiator a push forward and now I have a tiny air gap between the brace and the plug. It's about the width of a piece of paper so I'm pretty sure they're going to rub when I go over a few bumps and the radiator settles back into where it wants to ride. It should be okay I just don't like them rubbing.

Has anyone had a fan malfunction code? I had one this morning so I let it run and noticed the fan never came on. I swear the plug was all the way in but it was up to 240 degrees and the fan was still off so I unplugged it and plugged it back in as hard as I could and the fan kicked on. Maybe I didn't have it all the way in? I thought for sure I did but I could have been wrong. What's the fan turn on temp for these things? I thought it was 230 or so. I cleared the code and it has not returned. I'm surprised to see it has a fan malfunction code available in the ECM.

I know of others with the 2009 coupe and they have not mentioned that issue.
My suggestion now that you have the bar in place, is to loosen all four bolts and see if you can then push back on the brace to gain clearance.

Yup, I did that but I only have the slightest amount of clearance still. It should be okay but I was going to suggest on future versions to maybe put a recessed, flat steel plate in that area to give more clearance or flatten it out a little in that area. If I'm the only guy who had the problem then naturally don't change anything. Nice bar, instructions were great too!

Bryan and I installed my new brace this past Friday. It took about 50 minutes but dropping a few bolts (me) and wrenches (me again) could have something to do with this increase in time needed to install.  I went out for a ride on Saturday on some of my favorite twisties to check out the changes that the brace made.  I was going around 90 degree turns faster than before with a better feel as well.

Thanks for coming up with a great product at a great price.  :urock:

I have a 2008 Sky RL CFSE . . . no clearance issues on my car.  Had over 1cm of clearance.  Finagled it into place, moved some wire bundles around, test fit it, and tightened it up.  Had no torque guidelines, so I went with 35 ft.lbs and will check it again this weekend one week later and adjust if required.  I already have a "backbone", a DDM probeam, a Z0K rear anti-sway bar.  And the LVFCB was a nice addition.  I got it in the aim of reducing hood shake, increasing ride quality (stiffer chassis means lower natural resonance frequency) and essentially isolates the suspension from flexing the chassis and that's what I got.  The projector head light setup, sharp cut off, and 55W 4700K made the headlight shake noticeable as I hit bumps with the lights mounted to the hood, and is noticeably reduced with this brace.  I used to see my hood shake over bumps, even with the adjusted properly all around.  It still shakes, but it's like the "quality" of the car just got a lot better.  There's the slightest bit better turn in, but not even that noticeable as you could dial in say through a hair more toe-out in alignment.  But boy does it really stiffen up the looseness in the front end of the car.

Simple device, good quality, fair price.  To be 100% honest, had I seen one in person before actually buying it, I likely would have made my own (I have me own Miller TIG and MIG and plasma cutter, all 240V commercial grade).  But for the hassle of going to the local "metal supermarket" setting up the equipment, and tearing it back down, the weather getting colder lately, work, social life, etc, I got lazy and if I didn't have the metal equipment, I wouldn't even think twice about ordering again.

Excellent review Carbon
This is one of those mods that is really hard to beat for the price.
Shabby eluded to it in his post.
At highway driving speeds, it significantly stabilizes the kappa.
Love it
Thanks LV

There is 1 Silver left and I have a PM from another member inquiring about it.
If he does not get it then Sbutcher2 is yours.
As far as making a new batch will have to see, not sure if we can get enough people.

I need 10 and the new poster Mouse Trap also wants 2 Red which unless I have 5, the powder coater will charge $25.00 instead of the $15.00.
I send him a PM as noted in my post and have had no reply.
So at this time the count is still 2.

I have included my last invoice from the powder coater to show what is happening with the RED.
Also notice you folks do not pay for the surcharge or the Florida tax.
Because the powder coater had not done this before, I did not charge the member that order the single LVKFCB in RED the additional $10.00 USD.
