Mod-us interrupt-us briefly, rain has stopped momentarily, back to the tasks at hand...secret to breaking the tulip panel screws loose to install the WR posts?? I remember now, the last time, back in 06, it was not easy...

Going back to Kenny in '06, a new drywall bit in the magnetic screwdriver and a lot of steady pressure on the screwdriver  'til the screws break loose.  That's how I broke Kenny's screws loose.

The date was 1/1/2006, if I rememberate it correctly!

If you are having a problem with the screw driver slipping in the screw and rounding out the screw get some valve grinding compound and put a little on the tip of the screw driver.  The grit in the compound helps to keep the bit from slipping.  I have used this trick for years to remove screws that already had stripped heads.

Another trick is to get a really long screw driver like litterally 2 ft long.  For whatever reason you are able to get a lot more torque on the screw and they come free easier.

Holy crap Batman! 8K miles! Did you steal that car or what?

Congrats! I've been getting a little pressure to find a set Sky RL, but it'll have to wait for now.

Congrats, and it's true, 2 of em means you have to spend double the money.  We picked up a first 1000 as a stablemate for our 09 a few months, and I've already been buying parts to mod it.  As I walked through our old kitchen last night and realized that the money would probably been better spent on remodeling I told my wife it probably was a mistake to buy it.  She said, but you enjoy driving them don't you?  Yes I replied.  She said, then it wasn't a mistake, and we'll remodel the kitchen in the future.  I think I better buy her some flowers this week ;)

yep, flowers are definitely in order!
The nice part about #2, we've learned what to do, and what not to do. hopefully, on #1, so that means some time, and $ saved...or shifted to parts not applicable to #1.

Poor Kenny being stripped of parts, but not his pride.

make sure you mark your keys, we wouldn't want Kathy to make a mistake and take BoB to work by accident :)

it's nice, will take some getting used to, keeping it rolling along smoothly, ie, in town when trying just stay close to 25 or 30...doesn't like it much, kinda chugs a bit, no matter if I try to roll in 1st or 2nd.

thanks, Jeremy! I'm sure it will, I *love* Kenny, even in his current condition, I see him and can't help but smile, not there yet with BoB, maybe after putting some sweat equity into him...

Well, I started calling him BoB yesterday at the dealer, just cuz he needed to be called something. Figured it was just temporary until I came up with something.
Well, on the way home, while trying to avoid anything resembling a highway, Mz Garmin advised a left on this road...the road was a short, bumpy, one and a half lane paved affair, with a twist in the middle...so we stopped to take a pic at the end of it..
[attachment=1]

Melanie, uh, that is just a sign!  Just meant to be... I would think "BoB" is perfect!!!  The fates of chance have spoken.  I do hope you name him or her "BoB".  He is one cool customer for sure and would be honored that you named him in honor of Bob Lutz.  May be mistaken, but don't remember a "BoB" as a name for a Kappa yet taken on the forum.  You may be the only one with that name.

Anyway Melanie, you are for sure riding on the wings of an angel right now.  How Sweet does it get???  Can't imagine how Sweet if would be to have two Kappa's sitting in the garage!!!  I look forward to meeting Bob again..

Uh, the last time was the Nashville NASSM when he was the guest speaker if memory serves correct.  In any event Bob Lutz would be honored for sure if you named your pride and joy "BoB" and by all accounts with the street sign that you spotted and posted, it is predestined!  Most definitely, "SWEET INDEED"!!!   :yay: :drag:   :usa:

Ron...unfortunately Bob Lutz, although invited, was not able to attend the Nashville event.  You are thinking of the author of the Solstice Book who was our guest speaker.
Just here to help a friend!
