I would like to curse the Italian mother and grandmother for never writing anything down.  Because I only made the World's Greatest Meatballs Ever one time and didn't write it down either.  Thought I had more time.  I'm so kicking myself and I don't even try to fake through them and find my own way.  It wouldn't do them justice. :(

The spaghetti sauce...that I know I can get through if I really have that much ambition.  But it's an all day affair.  Kinda like why I don't make cinnamon rolls anymore.  That's a 12-14 hr deal too.  And I don't have a big enough oven nor the kitchen space for it.

I too have the "why wouldi write it down?  I make it different every time anyway" itallian grandmother.  I have a few of her masterpieces, but some I just can't get.  Haven't even attempted meatballs yet....

My mom did the same thing. Sometimes she mixed in sausage, sometimes she didn't. Eventually, she stopped browning the meatballs and would just slow cook them with the sauce. They were ridiculously good!! Always thought grandma's were better, until she did that. Then it was no contest!

My uncle kinda makes them like mom did. One of these days I'll pick his brain. All I need to know is what goes in them. I can figure out the rest! I'm thinking crushed crackers and maybe an egg to hold them together so they don't fall apart in the sauce.

Yeah, the link doesn't seem to want to work on any of the forums.

The block of rooms is under Kappa Car Club.  You can call to book if you'd like.  Not certain if there is a place yuo can enter this on the regular website or not.

Sorry about that!  :sorry:

Ah, 42 Kappa's and looks like 61 people if I have counted correctly although there are some question marks.  Maybe some more will sigh up.  The RT66/Pontiac Museum/Starved Rock Run - Aug 5-7 Cornfields in IL should be a blast!  I will have to loose a few pounds prior to the event cause the food and drinks will take their toll and it will be a blast and a fantastic Run.  Looking forward indeed to the Pontiac Museum.  The Cornfields should have already been harvested!

See ya at the Run! :drag: :brnout:  :us2:

Ron - I need to update this side.  I have food info for Saturday night and a possible surprise at dinner.  I'm waiting for confirmation on the surprise before I announce it.

Also, Friday night, some of the early arrivals will be going out to dinner.  I've got 44 or so on my count but I'm not counting the maybes and people who haven't confirmed.

I'll cross post later tonight when I'm home!

This is crazy!

OK, today went much, much, much better than I ever imagined!  So I can let out a few surprises now that they are confirmed!

Tim Dye, who is the founder of the Pontiac Museum and has the largest collection of all things Pontiac, will be joining us in Pontiac!  I met him today and he's very excited we're coming!  He'll either be giving us a special tour of the museum or he'll be joining us for dinner!  So feel free to grill him about our Kappas!  I'm told he knows almost everything you'd want to know about all things Pontiac and Pontiac related!   :yay:

I also met and had dinner with the Mayor of Pontiac!  Which was great because he has offered to have our group videotaped when we arrive into Pontiac.  They will set up the filming as we come across the river bridge!  I'll have some details to work out, but they really want us to have a great time.

Other things...carriage rides at night, the trolley and tours will be available to us free of charge, there are 9 Abraham Lincoln sites to see in town, the 3 swinging bridges, photo ops behind the RT 66 Museum, mural tours, and 4 museums in town!  It's going to be a fun day!  It's a beautiful town, so I hope you all enjoy it!!!

I'm very excited now!  And the City is very excited to be hosting us!!!  I can't wait!!!

Thanks!  The running part will be a little weak, but it's the only game in town around here.  I was going to do a road check today, but the weather isn't cooperating as I'd hoped.

The Pontiac Museum is small, but it's well done and they have some neat stuff.  Like all the old sales info for dealers, these crazy paper plates from the 60's and 70's...and a really cool hood ornament collection that includes all but 1 year.  They've even located that and are having it flown in from Germany in a few weeks!  There is only 1 floor to the museum this year, but they are already working on Phase 2 which will expand the museum to the 2nd floor.

And they have this cool library, with Kappa stuff!  You can browse about any manual or Pontiac book/sales literature, everything...in that library!  I enjoyed it!  I went through it twice yesterday!

Now I just have to figure out what we're doing for dinner Friday night and lunch on Sunday!

Yeah...I need to warn people about that!

There are a few going west rather than east though. But only a few.

Any recommendations for a detour?
