On the way home from work on Friday, the suspension was cycling really weird.  I thought maybe I had adjusted the coil overs  differently, so I went back and zeroed all of them, and then took a test drive today.

That did not fix it.   Car was doing this weird wag the tail type thing.  I could not tell if it was the front or the rear but man was it not cool.
So I just spent a bunch of time going over everything on the suspension front and rear.   My Back is F-Ing Pooched.

Here is what I found.

Passenger front  -  MISSING one of the 2 nuts that hold the upper Coilover.   Had to take the remaining one off and go to Lowes to get a match.
Took the car out for a test drive.  Still wagging the tail.   WTF???

So I take off both rear tires.

Driver Rear -  1/2" gap on the lower ball joint Nut holds the  lower A-Arm.   What a Pita that was to fix.  The Axle is in the way of getting an Allen head to hold the bolt while you tighten the nut.
I was lucky enough to have a 90 degree allen head.  Once I finished tightening down the nut, the Allen head was wedged against the axle.  So I basically had to strip the bolt to pry the allen head out.

I noticed I have one coilover that is just higher than the rest. And my left side tires have worn way more than the right. Not sure what's up with that. Otherwise, no issues with the suspension.

Do you have the spanner wrenches to adjust the height?
I never got mine

I surely do.  They're in my glove box.  My driver's side front is a little higher than the rest.  I can easily fit 3 fingers between the tire and the wheel well on that one.  I can barely do it on the other 3.

I might have to borrow them from you when I get back from my trip to Transylvania.
I think it's just the springs settling diffently.

Very cool TS.

MI mod meet went well.  Light on attendance and mods but perfect weather and great food.  Only three mods; backbone , heated seat, and battery installation.

Also a local graphic shop is replicating the OEM single racing stripe in silver metallic for me.  Plan on having them make the rear section longer so it goes down the duck tail spoiler about an inch or two.

Thanks to the forum member who took the time to made  a diagram and measurements (I forget who it was), but very appreciated.

elff, if it is something that comes with the B&G Coilovers, I should have a set after DDM installs mine in Asheville.  Might be a little bit easier to borrow mine.

Went to pick up the wheels. The guy hadn't called, I just went over there on my own on the way home from work. They weren't ready....

He was sanding them down and was on the last wheel. He showed me that the chrome was flowing away from the edges of the spokes. The chrome was more gray in that area. I asked him if it was the colour that I had picked and he said definitely it was the chrome and anything other than chrome would go on without a problem.

I'll change the colour to something else, I said. He wouln't have any part of that as he said that he'll get it right and that it isn't going to beat him. To be honest with you I couldn't really see what he meant. Maybe it was the darkness of the shop but they looked great from where I was standing. He wants to do the base and the chrome top coat again tomorrow while changing a few things and see how he makes out.

This guy isn't making any money on this job now, I'm sure of it. He's put in too much time already but he wants to make it right and I appreciate the great service he has given me. Gonna call him tomorrow and see how he's making out.

You should have seen the cool dragster frame he had in there in a blue metallic. Looked really sharp!
Just trying to do my part...

The 'chrome flow' might even be a cool effect!

So is word of mouth and repeat business.  It's probably is not practical for those of us not in Canada but for those that are Bob you may want to find out if your powdercoater will do work for people that are willing to ship their items to him, mainly is he willing to deal with shipping items.

You people from Iowa are strange, getting cows drunk that's a waste of alcohol, there really must not be much to do in Iowa. :poke:

There wasn't. Depending on which town you were from we scooped the loop or shagged the drag  (aka went cruisin') every weekend. Or threw farm parties in the cornfields with the cows!

Nothing tips like a cow!

We were young and didn't think about alcohol abuse back then. Agreed, clearly a waste of  perfectly fine Milwaukee's Best!

Hey it's a local thing there! My parents did it and called it that. The kids still call it shagging the drag in Ft Dodge because Central Avenue is known as The Drag! Although it's not what it used to be I'm told. We used to pack it and the square every Fri and Saturday night when I was 16! So stupid, but so much fun! I had the cool car so I drove. So many cars you barely moved up and down for over a mile, then around Hardees parking lot and back onto Central Ave

It was either that or hang out in front of the only pop machine in the enormous metropolis of Farnhamville. Where we gave Bruce the town cop a bad time.

And if I had a nickel for every time I heard that story, I would own a ferrari!

Another sign of age is repeating the same stories over, and over, and over.......
