HA HA I just saw that...the reflection in the car does look like that LOL. Your hood looks really great...you will never get those gaps perfect...I have been trying for ages to no avail. It's just what happens when you put a fiberglass part on...once you get one thing aligned, another gets thrown out of alignment. I might have an extra rubber stopper that I can send to you...I will check when I get my car back later this week:)

I appreciate that. Yeah going around the car back and forth to angle 1/4 inch just to go the the other side and be off. My wife gave up after and hour and I sweat it out in the Arizona heat for two more before I said thats good enough. I then put the hood struts on, check, adjust the rubber on the hinges, check, attach the strikers, check. slowly set it down, check. have to push the hood down because there is no weight to drop down. ERorrr. Attempt #2 this morning.

I'm getting to the point of stop messing with it and let a professional person do it.

I recently had to adjust the rear bump stops on my hood out. I was rattling a little bit.

Is there a way to adjust the cable release? My passenger sticks on occasion.

Well, the battery finally bit the dust.
It just up and quit overnight, tried charging and it was fine, then dead again the next morning.

So I reviewed Joe's (excellent) replacement video and pulled out the old battery.
As I did that I found that the bottom of the fender was, in fact, pretty well broken:

So, I ran out and got a new Die Hard (at least I got a small break with the tax free holdiay in MA) and replaced that:

The temporarily fixed the panels with some epoxy and fiberglass mesh to hold them on.
Once I recover from the college payment I just made I guess its time to talk to Norm.

for once, I agree with miller. I continue to whine about my car not having a LS9 in it, but I just can't justify spending that money since I am saving for MMMMMMM9 so I can see you again... It's all about priorities.

I have no idea! She has very rarely seen rain but with the SUV out of commission she was in torrential rain the last two days.

At the bottom edge of the convertible top there is a plastic 'gutter' that collects any rain that comes into the trunk at the edge of the trunk lid. The '06s and I believe some early '07s had some Styrofoam blocks to keep the gutter open. Later models have plastic clips. First, check to see that the gutter is being held open by the blocks or clips. Next, the gutter drains into tubes on each side. Be sure that the tubes are not clogged with debris.

I just went and checked. I think I see what you're talking about. There is a rubber tube and if I look all the way down it looks like an X opening and I can see the ground. So no, I don't believe they are clogged.

check the rubber tube in the tray in the back. the one that carries all the electrical cables. You can test it by pouring water into the tray there. See if it leaks on the bottom.

Does anyone know which fuse controls the trunk lights? The manual says 10 & 11 are trunk, but I pulled both of those and the light(s - DDM mod) was still on. I'd like to leave the trunk open all night but I don't want to drain the battery.

The tube that Critter is telling you to check is probably it....I had the same leak as you, and it was from that tube not being fully connected. I actually sealed the perimeter of the tube with epoxy. Not a drop of water in the trunk since:)

I also had water get into mine through the buttress holes after the body shop had done some work. The chrome rings were placed back on with only partial 3m tape so the water had channels to go through. I could tell because when I lifted the trunk water poured out of the liner. It was wet in the same area as yours. I"m not sure if you had your trunk repainted.

Has your car sat out in the rain since the ddm light was installed?

I just poured a cup of water into the area and most if went outside while the rest dripped into the trunk as a steady stream. I guess I'm buying some epoxy today.

Thank you for your help every body. P.S. I still need to know which fuse to remove so she can dry out with the trunk open.

You can just leave it open and the light should turn off after 15-20 minutes. Just like the radio if you leave it on with the doors closed and remove the key. Or, just like the interior lights if to leave the door open when the key is removed...

Either way, go back out and check on it in an hour just to make sure it's off.

That tube was the cause of a leak in mine as well.
It was not pushed fully into the hole at the bottom

wet/dry vac first, if the trunk light is removed, and all you have is the ddm led, it will not kill your battery overnight even if it stays on.

I got a lot of it out yesterday with towels, today I have the trunk open and sitting in the sun at the office.

As long as it's not a windy day. If it is, go close it. A moderate gust blowing from forward to aft can mess up the hinge.
