May have to go lower but my driveway hits that front air scoop at stock height. Can't imagine what it will do now. Still need to lower a bit in the front but I assume it will on its own too.

Same here, YouTube advertises several ideas:  My concern would be if snow removal blades would rip em up.

I hit a large bird on my way home tonight. :(

My guess is a pheasant.  It came up from the nose of the car, looks like it skidded across the hood, hit the top of the windshield, and then went on over.  Top was up.

I stopped to look for any obvious damage and didn't see any so far. When I got home, I pulled up close behind the G6. I can see where the bird left a big mark up the hood in the dust, but still couldn't tell anything.  I'll have to check in the morning.

Hoping my good luck holds and there is no damage!

Monty Python??

Good country girl that I am...I went back to look for the sucker!  But it was that strange time of the evening when the sun has just gone down and your headlights don't quite work yet, but it's too dark to really see much. It wasn't in the road, so it must have been in the ditch.  I was heading west when I hit it.  When I tried to make the ditch pass, there was traffic coming at me, so between that and the time of day, and heading back west into the sunset, I couldn't see anything.

Dang coyotes will have some good pheasant tonight.

But hey...I get a new kill sticker!   :yay:

FINALLY got around to install the LNf fuel filter that I won at the last mod meet. DDM says that it takes about 30 minutes but to allow a few hours. Took me less than 30 minutes including getting the tools out and putting them back again.
The hardest part was retrieving the cap from the schrader valve after I dropped it through the intake manifold. The instructions don't say to do so but I took it off to check if there was any pressure in the fuel system before I started taking anything apart. There was none.

Just trying to do my part...

I will, for sure.  I'm still having some trouble with extending and re-hanging the rear muffler.  it needs to be pushed further to the rear, right now it's tucked so far back it can hardly be seen because the car is so low.

Finally got my evaprative fuel solenoid in the mail today.  It only took a few days over a month to get here.  Took me about 3 minutes to change it out.  No I just have to clear the code again...

I also ordered a SPEC 3+ Clutch Kit, a SPEC Flywheel and a WERKSracing Clutch Slave Cylinder Spacer today.  Hopefully it will all arrive by the time I get back from my vacation!

No I don't.  I'm not that educated when it comes to clutches.  Do I need to replace that too???

Yes, is a cheap part (75-150) which is advisable to be replaced when you do clutch change. Also don't forget about brake fluid.

:agree: It is always good practice to change all rotating part when doing a clutch job, because the cost & down time it take to split the motor & tranny. Flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, pilot bearing & threw out bearing, aka release bearing, aka slave cylinder, in GM's case threw out bearing & slave cylinder is all in one unit.

I now it suck, my $100 threw out bearing in my Legacy GT is making noise. So this weekend that $100 failing part is costing me another $450 in parts to complete this clutch job. It has 100k on the last clutch job & it's not slipping towing a 3k lbs. car.

Mister Bond.  Tip... before you install the LEDs, a number of us have found that the gas-gauge LEDs are too bright compared to the others.  It's advisable to add a resistor in line with the power leads.  I'm afraid I forget what value I used, but something in the order of 200 ohms should work. (Check the brightness before you put the needles back on & console back together.)

Also see these steps for how to set the needles correctly: http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f59/want-change-mph-cluster-kph-68945/#post1049883

After polishing the factory driver-side IC charge pipe well over a year ago, I finally got round to doing the passenger side today.  Took a lot of wet-sanding and polishing to get most of the tool-marks out.  I didn't want to go too deep and I concentrated on the areas that are visible when it's mounted, but it came out pretty nicely I think.  Before and after photos:

So you saw where I ordered the Clutch kit from Spec with a Flywheel.  Do you (or anyone) have part numbers for the other items that I should replace?
