Me too but we did have to muscle it a little to slide it over the exhaust on the cat side.

SB, how'd you manage to remove the muffler from the rubber hangers?  Dave suggested I might be able to WD them because the hangers have welded on round tabs or something.  At first I thought they were weird round bolts and tried using my channel lock but that just turned, turned, turned.

You can use this clamp tool to get it off the hangers or vice grips.
It's a pita no matter what you use, but they do come off.

Took it out from body shop, fixed the big bend from passenger rear panel, painted some big paint chips under front bumper, fixed the cracked Norm's diffuser.

I swear you people need to learn how to drive
I am getting very tired being run over all the time.   I also have to re-polish my bald head each time because your cars are ridiculously dirty on the underside

It's amazing how inconsiderate they are isn't it?  They could at least wash the bottom side of their cars.

I was at Speedway getting gas the other day and heard this loud WHAM, BAM!  Speedway has these small island curbs at the exit/entry areas, the tool didn't even stop, he just drove right over it into Burger King parking lot located next door.  Dude next too me shook his head and said; what the hell is he thinking, BK running out of whoppers?

Thanks Elff, I'll call Napa and see if they have anything, my channel lock did nothing but turn.

Choptop are you trying to turn the steel stud that goes through the rubber? Here's a few videos.

A quick spritz of silicone lubricant, and a pry bar and the rubber hangers for the exhaust come off easily.  I've dropped mine many times now for things like the back bone, for the rear ZOK sway bar, probeam, etc.

I am taking that trunk light if its not installed by soon. Mirror will be taken as well for pain and suffering

Trunk light is on hold for awhile unless the calvary comes to help me unpack.  But I did find my toolbox tonight.

Pain and suffering?  Don't even.  Feel free to take the mirror I don't have yet. ;)

Btw, I saved carpet for you.  4 or 5 rolls.  It's in the garage.  If you want a very nice desk, chairs or other miscellaneous items I'm giving away also, let me know.  Otherwise, they're going up on craigslist.

Even though I needed to take some pictures of a manual trunk release mod I have for some interested people, I only looked at my Kappa tonight.  At least I got to see it several times while I hauled old stuff I should have gotten rid of years ago out to the curb.

I hope the car starts tomorrow, if I do get to drive it.  :(

While I am waiting for a replacement O2 extender, I decided to just put the O2 sensor into the exhaust.
One thing I noticed is the O2 sensor had a crap load of carbon on it.
Is that normal?

Also, for the HPT crowd,  I don't have the SES column in Engine Diagnostics-> DTC
WTF?
Since I am getting an extender I could set P0420 to zero, but I was hoping to set it to 3 and disable SES as detailed in numerous threads.
But with the column not displaying how do I do that?

You know you could start your own thread?

As for the carbon build up, yes by installing it out of the exhaust stream it won't get as hot so the carbon deposits will have an easier time collecting on it.  Kind of like how hotter spark plugs don't foul as easy as cold one can.

elff, my exhaust is loaded with carbon. tis the nature of the DI engine.

If you look at the pic I posted of my extender, you can see the black carbon inside and around the edge of where the threads were. This is all carbon from the exhaust.

Its funny, but if you wash out your exhaust, it will get much louder... then will mellow out after the carbon is built back up

I had my exhaust tips powdercoated black by DDM
now I dont have to clean the Inside
:)

Cool, thanks, while I wait for the steel extender, I am going to disable P0420 in HPT.
I can't find the SES setting and it's a non issue until I need to get it inspected.

Mission accomplished.  Thanks for the tips folks.  I ended up WD the muffler rubber hangers and using a flat screwdriver to push/guide em off the hanger tabs.  :tool:

Added sound deadening to the doors/floor/back wall and a little in the trunk from some leftovers. Went with dynamat since its readily available to me and Ive been having trouble getting in touch with don @ sounddeadenershowdown. I can say that it probably eliminated 75% of the roadnoise and probably adding the extra foam/vinyl layers would only get rid of the other 25% which I dont think is worth the extra money. I recently changed plans that the car will basically just be a d.d/cruiser so its reverted back to stock interior setup sans onstar/xm.

Just d/l a 2.0 file off the repository to check it out myself. All I did was click on the fault class and it brings up a drop down box. Thats where you can select what you want that dtc to do. Dont know why its setup different than other engines.

Different OS for different engines.
We dont have the ses option.
I set p0420 to disabled while I wait for the extender.

I realize that, but of all the different engines Ive looked at, I never saw one setup without the ses checkbox. Even with it disabled and dtc cleared and ses light off, the light still comes back on after a while?
