What's that Expression???
« on: July 18, 2011, 10:25:04 PM »
3rd Time's the charm
Welp, guess it's time for my 3rd rear Bumper and 3rd Fascia from Norm.
To be honest, I thought the repair on the second bumper was not done correctly, so I'm taking this in a positive light and will not take the car back without a 100% perfect alignment on the bumper to the rear quarter panels.

Just one more example of it being more dangerous in traffic with distracted idiots.   This is the result of a cell phone user not paying attention and hitting a stopped vehicle.  The right side damage is from the mount for a Snow Plow.

Elff,
Since they will be paying for a new norms, you might want to ship that norms to norm and have him r&r it so you have a spare for next time.  It looks fixable.

That's a good idea.
I'm waiting to hear back from Norm. Website does not have the cost for painting, which I need for the adjuster. Or I'll just have it painted when it arrives either way works. I can't seem to find my last order.

OK this is really crazy.  Not expensive, but kind of stupid.
$43.50 gets me a new custom plate.

What happens is, I fill out 3 forms and they photocopy my damaged license plate.
I get a new non custom License plate and....A NEW MATCHING REGISTRATION.
I then install this new non custom plate and surrender my existing custom plate
At that point, they begin to make my replacement custom plate
and approximately 2 months later, I get the new plate with an even NEWER MATCHING REGISTATION
and have to surrender the temp plate and rip up the temp registration.

Gotta love efficiency

Hey if they only replaced the plate with a new one and let you drive on the damaged one it would only cost a buck twenty five.  After all prisoners don't get paid that much.

I hope you get it a quick fix Dave, not much of a harm done, there are always some distracted idiots to ruine your day. Regarding your car, have in mind that angels are white, maybe you should reconsider your next plate  ;)

Elff - it's the same in Chicagoland or anywhere for that matter.  I was rear ended in the burbs also, but not in my kappa at least.  A couple years ago, a chick in a very nice and very expensive Mercedes 2 cars in front of me was on her cell phone and she rear ended the car in front of her.  It was a major crunch!!!  I had to laugh!

That many stupid drivers, that much traffic...it's gonna happen, it's just a matter of when and how many times. :(

Someone hits my Kappa and I'll be uber pissed!

Dad burn distractions cause more accidents then just about anything, uh, when you see them playing with their computer or checking out chicks as they pass and then just careless behavior.  I get so sick of it, and if the insurance companies know this goes on and continues coverage there is no excuse for that!  It's just disgusting sometimes what you see going on in cars that should not be happening and becomes a serious distraction!  :barf:

I've had to shelve the Sky as the alignment is definitely off and there is a rattle now at the cat.  Not sure if the collision managed to push the entire exhaust system forward.
Can't wait to get under the car and look everything over.

Still waiting on parts.

Got Norm's rear fascia today and Lusifer gets dropped off at the body shop today.
I'm going to have them paint my GMPP CAI while it's in there.  I had the Coil Cover painted and it's held up fine, so I'm not worried about the temperature.

I've painted everything under the hood.  It holds up to the heat fine, but it doesn't hold up to the hood liner.... got to figure out how to adjust things more......

Glad Lucifer is getting back on her feet...

Kudos to Norm for rushing the hell out of a Rear Fascia for me.

He constantly backs up the fact that
HE IS DA MAN!!!

So now it's the game of try to be a patient elff.
Unfortunately, I'm not that patient.

I actually dropped the sky off with the dealership who took over for my Saturn dealership.
They freaking love my car, have given me great service, are replacing a cracked fender that was MY FAULT under warranty
So I felt
1. The sky is in good hands
2. they deserved the extra business for their excellent service and customer support.
