I have been watching F1 since they started broadcasting here in the states, I do not remember a race where dry tires were not used at all. I remember the race in 09 where Lewis lost the championship because he went into the pits on well worn intermediate tires. His rear tires had the treads showing and he slid off of the wet entrance lane into the gravel. He got beached there and lost the race and the championship. I believe it was his second season.
The skill required to drive that track in those conditions is amazing.
