That's such an insane race track.
Any mistake ends up with a car smacking a wall.
No spoiler here
How long was the actual race?
And what happens if a race goes over 2 hrs?

It lasted within a few minutes of the 2 hour limit.
As for happened, as they come up on 2 hours, a white flag followed be checkered flag is shown. The events do not go past 2 hours unless there is a red flag situation, whereupon the 2 hour clock is stopped until the red flag is withdrawn.

BTW, how big was that bonehead move on the part of Schumacher?

After hearing this explanation, I don't think it was that much of a bonehead move.  It happened in less than a second.

Ummm ... sandwich meat. At this point in his career, he should know better. He screwed up. When you are crawling up the ass of ANY F1 car, you are ASKING for disaster.

Like he said though, lifting off the gas in an F1 car is like slamming on the brakes in an ordinary car.   Did anyone notice the clag on the outsides of the corners, it looked an inch deep on some of the corners

True on the clag. And he should not have been crawling up the ass of the car in front. It is not NASCAR.

Even the pros aren't perfect. It has nothing to do with knowing better.
There is a reason every team expected the safety car to come out in singapore.
It's an extremely difficult track.

Until Vettel breaks some of his landmarks
The stig is currently the all time best F1 driver.

Elff -  Shu was never the stig except as a joke on the show, it was a formula 3 driver by the name of Ben Collins.

I watched last night. A veteran and a rookie clashing. I'm not surprised. Perez has only a few more RACES under his belt as Schumacher has CHAMPIONSHIPS!

I wonder if Hamilton lost his sh1t after the race.
Seemed like everything that could go wrong [Shy of crashing] did go wrong for him.

Vettel was perfect, once again.  Can't believe how quickly he pulled away from everyone.  It was like 1.5 seconds each lap.

i agree. i strongly believe that Perez for some reason lift his foot off the gas, a move that, from Schumi's point of view and experience, was definetely not necessary at that part of the race. so he must have been caught by surprise when Perez actually lift his foot off the gas

Massa was ripping Hamilton, and between qualy and the race, well... deserved.

Massa was upset:

Yeah definitely. It's too bad Lewis had to f this up. If he came in 5th with two pit stops, he may have been able to catch Alonzo.

What really upset me was the traffic that Button ran into. He was affected by it more than Seb.

That is true
Button might have been able to push for the win, but too many cars got in his way.

I don't think he would have caught Seb, but it's more fun to see him try. Seb was taking it easy

If Schmacher had been any closer to Perez' car, it would have been XXX rated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If if Perez backed off, Michael was simply WAY too close. I had the race recorded, looked at that incident a few times, and Michael appeared to not pull over for the impended pass soon enough. And it would not have been the first time he ripped the front wing off the Mercedes this season. (BTW, I like Schumacher.) He simply gig not give himself any room.

Exactly, in the split second he made the decision, he made a driver error.
This stuff happens in racing.
Hamilton did the same thing to a lesser extent to Massa in this race.
Weber went into the wall a couple of races ago because of the same thing

It's fast and the gaps are close out there.

When you get blue flagged you need to move out of the way, not try to make a move on someone else.

Not saying it was only the traffic's fault. But Jensen lost more time than he should have.

exciting last couple of races.  I think the wear and tear the season puts on these vehicles really showed up in this race, coupled with the fact that it puts a lot of strain on the transmissions.

The break and builds of next years cars is going to be interesting to say the least.  Ferrari needs a complete redesign and Mclaren has got to come out with something more competitive from day 1.  About 7 drivers might change teams or lose their rides altogether.

Nice to see Weber finally win a race.  Even in Second place, Vettel was like a kid in a candy shop.

Gonna suck not having a race to watch for a while.
