« on: August 16, 2011, 09:14:19 PM »
A little advice please, I will recive my GMPP Tune tomorrow and will get the ecu flashed on friday, I will solder and water proof heat shrink my connections. My question is what do I need to do to get the most from the tune? Just drive the car and it will learn? or drive it a little harder than I normaly do to get the most?    Thanks

My question is what do I need to do to get the most from the tune?

Nothing, just push the pedal to the floor and hang on.

Drive safe, obey the laws of your state, your ECM will learn all it needs to and in the process you will have a blast.  Congrats!

Yup, just drive it.  It will feel much stronger immediately after you get it flashed.
Then, a couple key cycles later it will actually improve.

Enjoy!!

I like this question because I've often wondered the same thing.  I had it installed last year and since it basically sits in the garage and when I do drive it is driven normally.  OK, I've floored it once or twice to see what the boost would hit but otherwise I drive it like the old man I am and get the impression I really don't get on the car like some of you folks do.

The main reasons I had it installed is because; 1. GM warranty 2. Possibility that GM may discontinue it at some point, and 3. Resale value.  Not that I think it would significantly improve the resale value it but I was thinking it one of those things that can't hurt the resale value.

Use 93 octane gas.

Where available. On the west coast, not so much (CA only has 91, WA only has 92)
