I just (like last weekend) had Lyndon apply his tune over my GMPP. Hell hell what a difference... I would say there is a similar leap from GMPP to Westers as I felt going stock to GMPP. The GMPP tune is rated at 290 HP and 340 lb ft at the crank. This Wester tune should be more like 300+ and 400+. I was also impressed at just how smooth the engine runs.
keep Wester's with 2.7 sensors. That tune has the best reliability.
Over on HPT thyere been some discussion on upgrading to the GMPP sensors but using the stock turbo tune instead of the GMPP tune. Seems like there is more power since there seems to be less turbo nanny controls on the stock GXP tune VS the GMPP tune. This could be positive power wise and also negative since maybe GM knows something about these cars we don't as far as reliability of the GMPP increased power out put with the GMPP tune.
Yes and NO. You can boost higher but will be out of the stock 2.7 bar sensor range which can be a mix for disaster if you do not know what your doing. What they suggest is that you UPGRADE to the 3 bar sensors but use the STOCK GXP tune but copy and paste the sensor data 5 spaces out from the decimal from the GMPP tune to the STOCK tune and run and tune the STOCK GXP tune. You will need to copy and paste the sensor data from the GMPP tune since the car will run aweful if you don't.
I also seem to recall that the GMPP tune has a pretty high number of engine failures. I could be wrong and I don't know the stats. So take that for what its worth, others will chime in I'm sure.
