New member in Massachusetts
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:10:25 PM »
Just wanted to say hello from a new member in Massachusetts. I'm picking up my Aggressive Victory Red 2009 GXP roadster tomorrow night and then the fun can begin. It already has the GMPP CAI, GMPP exhaust and turbo upgrade kit so I'm thinking the performance should be fine (for a little while anyway) so I can just do some of the handling and ergonomic mods I see on here. The car only has 7500 miles on it and has pretty much every option except the Monsoon sound system and 6 disc CD.

I've been a mechanic for 25 years and have messed with a bunch of Olds 442's, turbo Buicks, a GMC Typhoon and even a turbo Sunbird GT. I've admired the Kappa cars since they came out so I'm looking forward to a lot of fun miles with it!  :yay:

Awesome first post TC-GXP!  Now, indeed I must congratulate you on finding an Aggressive 2009 GXP with just 7,500 miles on
the odometer.  Now, the fact that you are and have been a mechanic for 25 years is indeed a bonus.  I must say your new sweetheart is barely broken in, pardon the pun but practically virgin for sure.  Have fun with your new toy and keep us updated on what mods you may be interested to add to your new pride and joy.  This is indeed a performance forum and I look forward to further posts from you TC-GXP!

Thank you, thank you! I'm trying to absorb what my peers here have done and decide what I want to do for modifications first. I'm thinking the backbone brace will be first and then maybe the front and rear braces after that. There seem to be a lot of options to personalize these cars which is great but a little daunting to decide upon. I'll see what the common mods are and the results and decide what path I want to take. I mainly want to preserve the integrity of the chassis through braces and if the handling improves that'd be a plus. It already handles awesome enough for me!!

Welcome TC-GXP, you made a great choice.  It's been a little over a month since I got my '08 RL, and the smile still hasn't left my face (I think they call that permagrin around here :D).  I've not even begun modding either.

TC-

Welcome to the forum!  I highly recommend getting all three braces as soon as the wallet will allow.  They make the biggest difference for the smallest $$ of any handling mod.  Well worth every penny.

Also- Wakefield?  I grew up in Middleton!  Right around the corner!

I have sinced moved out to Southern Cal, but still have family there.

Thank you everyone! I'm going to order the braces this afternoon and probably the "Attic" too just for a little more storage space. I posted a few pics in the gallery (couldn't figure out how to do it in this thread) and just took a few more pics in the driveway to post. Definitely going to look into KRONUS and see who's local to me and when and where they hangout.

My car was delivered to me last night and the guy who drove it to my house was the guy who traded it in! He's an older guy who works at the dealership shuttling cars around with his wife so they were both here chatting for a while. It was nice to have them here to answer some of my questions about the Carfax report and tell me about the warranty work he had done and why he had the performance modifications done. You could tell they both loved the car it was just too small for them.

Had the top down today running errands and had a bit of fun with it. I noticed the boost runs up to 17 lbs and seemed to stop there, not sure if that's the norm for the GMPP tune or what.
