I looked very seriously at the Sparco Steel, they are small and very comforable and inexpensive, the guys from Sparco said they would fit in the Solstice easily when I talked with them at Englishtown and they measured my car.

They are only $289 each

CAREFUL !!!!!!!! They have two styles of mounting systems. One is the side mount which they have at 11.42" apart. Our seats are 12.5". The other requires using their universal seat tracks.  ..............................

JUST got off the phone with Sparco. Our seat tracks will NOT work with their "side mount" seats. And to make matters worse the bottom mount universal tarcks have no provisions for our seat belts - which mount to out seat tracks. Check mate !!!!!!!! OOPS.

I talked with someone who made the Sparco seats work in the Solstice, I can't rememeber who it was it was a while back they had the Torino, must have fabbed the brakets. I abandoned the idea long ago, at least the Sparco's won't fit with my style bar. Looks like you are correct about the mounting

Spoke with JPM. They agreed that after market seats are a challenge for the Kappas. They have a possible summer project on the back burner about coming up with something for the Kappas, but nothing solid. I have some other thoughts and will be calling Sparco again.

Well, that was not helpful. But while speaking with someone there I thunk a thought. So, next week I am heading 2 hours south to Safe Racer with the right seat ripped out of the car and a tape measure. What I want to do should work, and if it will I'll document it.

Go time to see if Lyndon's tune gets better fuel milage. ;)

That looks like a Corbeau CR1.
The Width at the shoulders is the measurement that really matters in our cars.  I do believe those would work, just a matter of their seat bracket options.

I ordered these seats today on their eBay store for $349. I think they'll look great once the mounting bracket situation gets worked out by one of our reliable vendors.

Norm is also working on aftermarket Kappa racing seats.  He made a fiberglass mold from an aftermarket seat and widened it, calling it his fat a$$ racing seat.  It will also be L & R specific by trimming the outside of the racing seat buckit that hits the door panels when closed, along with redesigning the head rest to better go w/Kappa humps.  Contact him for additional info or pics.
