Started to work with Westers but he was keeping to forget things and switched to a local tuner. So is not someone from LNF world, just a local guy who is specialized in tuning Subarus and stand alone management systems.

Checked compression of the engine today:
- 10 bars (145psi) after 3 turns
- 12 bars (175psi) after 5 turns (maximum)
All cylinders were identical

After all the beating and races the engine is still strong

Different note, ordered a different turbo, 4th in the row

GT3071 with welded wastegated so I can use the 38mm external Tial one. I wanted a GTX3071 but the price is almost double for this and the deal for the GT3071 was way too good to miss and free delivery in 3 days

Why you might ask? Well the turbo which I have now is way too big and is under compressor efficiency.

just did some research on the 3071.... looks like you will have some epic power from 4k-6k.. after 6.5k the 3076 seems to fall off.. so im guessing your smaller turbine side will fall off a bit sooner. Good news is it should be a lot more usable powerband for you

What you posted is a dyno of different turbos: HTA3076, HTA3082 and HTA3582 (even they might have same base they are different turbos) on different engines (I guess is evo) with unknown mods and unknown fuel which makes them completely irrelevant.

Also theoretically versus practical results vary a lot, using 3 turbos and struggling for about 1 year to reach my goals taught me just to see the real world end results and not to inhale others results.

im not saying that you are going to make XYZ power on a 3071, in that case i would agree with your statement. I know the car this was on. and what fuel, other mods, etc.

All i am saying the optimal power band for the 3071 should be spooling from before 3500 and hit peak at ab 4k and keep making power all the way to 6500ish.. past that it will be out of breath, but our motors cannot spin as high as the one in the dyno chart.

All im saying is it should be a good fit for your application.

As far as turbine maps and compressor maps, they are a good basis to compare one turbo to another, however, being a mfg engineer, i like the "real world studies" more.

Yes, I agree with this, IF I succeed to make it to push max. boost before 4000rpm and keep it flowing at that level up to 6500rpm would be perfect and benefit from our engine construction who were designed to output maximum in that range. But ... there is an IF
