From the pics it looks like a standard version, software is 2.23... just need to know how many credits... I might be interested too.

HPT even for non tuners is a huge plus. You can log and reset codes in pretty much any domestic car without licensing it. You also have access to the diagnostics of the ECM which allow you to trouble shoot and turn things on and of for tests.

IMO its better than most hand held scanners, and most of those decent scanners run for as much if not more.

plug it in the laptop, and open VCM scanner

From the top menu bar,
Help>License info

It will tell you how many credits remain

No need to even plug the unit into the laptop just open either VCM Editor or Scanner, then Help>Lincense info and your good to go.

You need to plug in the standard interface for it to display the credits purchased and how many are used.
Otherwise it shows

Credits
Description

With the interface disconnected you will get 3 rows below the above information that states

Connect to the interface and click the get license information icon

Once you plug in the interface it will display the purchased credits.

Do that and take a screenshot and attach it.

The N/A ecm requires the pro version I believe, I remember Dave saying something about that the last time I was down there. Used to be they could only use LS2 Edit until the new version of HP Tuners came out.

where the bad gouge is but perhaps you were misinformed. The pro software is the same as the regular. The difference is that the pro comes with plug in modules used for data gathering.

And you can data log with just the tool
then connect it to a computer and pull the logs off.

I log with my standard version all the time. That is how we tracked/logged BSS' tune issues last year.

What I am trying to say is

The Standard interface needs a computer in the car with you to do the logging. The pro interface has the ability to do logging without a computer connected to it.
It can data log for up to 1.5 hrs Sans computer.

The one downfall of the Pro version since it does not have to be connected to a laptop to log is you do not know in real time what your vehicle log is or is not doing at the time your logging.
Lets say you are doing multiple runs with Pro and you logged KR and it's going crazy you will not know this until you go home and download that file to see what was happenig and the damage could already be done. You could always have it connected to a laptop and I think that's your best option In my opinion or just have a buddy ride in the vehicle while you log.

In my instance Im glad I NEED to be connected to a PC to log since I LIKE to KNOW right then and there what is happening on the logs. If I had the option to log without the PC and I saw something crazy at Home I would be like CRAP I wish I would have seen this in REAL TIME. Pro or Standard I would always say LOG with a PC connected unless your just tring to fine tune or make some minor adjustments.
