Help please - what is it? Coolant bleeder?
« on: September 03, 2012, 02:47:00 PM »
Hi,

I'm in the process of swapping a LNF into a BMW. The engine is from a HHR SS. I'm wondering what this is near the upper rad hose where it connects to the head? On the solstice, there is a hose which goes up to the surge tank, but I'm unable to find any connection on the HHR diagrams. What is it? An air or steam bleed for the cooling system?  Any help is appreciated. I'll try and post an image when I figure out how...

Thanks,

jtb

That coolant line runs from the head back to the coolant reservoir tank.

Thanks! the info and the picture are helpful. I'll route a line to the coolant overflow tank.
