OK, that one zipped right over my head :)

That's because English isn't your native language :)

The implication being that marc4gsr only works in manufacturing if these files become available.  Otherwise, he's employed in a different field.

Sank you!  I'll be here all zeh veek.

Please tip your waitress.

Try zeh veal!

Hmmmmm, a box was just delivered, what could it be?

And so well packaged.

WooHoo, an unused set of very rare Aftershock Recessed Grills!

A special thanks to Solstice forum member IDFKA who was good enough to sell these to me.  Thanks again IDFKA, I really appreciate it.

Now I can not make any promises, but I'm hoping to find out how much it will cost to have these 3D Scanned, and then see how much it would cost to have them 3D printed.  If I do this I will create a separate thread to document the experience.

I'm on the edge of my seat...

You might consider cleaning them up a bit though before you get them 3D scanned.
Just trying to do my part...

FYI

The ones I had drawn up would cost around $850 each to have 3D printed in an ABS material.  I don't think many of you would have been interested in them at that price.

Oh, sure, NOW you tell us :willy:

Not to clutter up Norms thread.

I actually just recently found a vendor that could print these in a high resolution and in the material we would want.  I knew it was going to be pricey but $1700 for the pair was a shock to me too.

You can still buy a set if you want but seriously how many want to spend that much?

Why is 3D printing the go-to for producing these? I am also in the Subaru STI community and there was a member there who developed and had manufactured a gauge cluster surround that incorporated aftermarket gauges since there wasn't a product available. I know the market is larger for Subaru parts like that, but even on the initial run of them (I think he only made a hundred units or so) the pricing was under $200 for an OEM quality piece.

There has to be a better way to get these to market.

3D printing because the market isn't that big, even if the price was say $300 I don't think there is demand for 50 pair.
