Thanks guys for the info and help.
I still have my other vehicle which is a 03 Ford F-150 Superchaged Harley Davidson truck basically a Supercrew Lightning.  For the weight of that baby she can put down some great numbers on a stock block 440RWHP and 525WHTQ with pretty much all add ons you can get and a custom tune done a an X Ford Engineer.  If i would do it all aver I would go probably with a full rebuild of the motor and cams with a whipple Charger and pulley with tune, exhaust and shift kit and be done.  At that point I have a 650RWHP with 700WRHP beast of a truck that would do the Qrt mile in about the mid 11's and about 120ishMph.

I did a search on GM Parts Direct of P/N 19212670 which was posted as the P/N of the Upgrade and it says:
GM List: $650.00
Our Price: $473.20
Description: Turbocharged engine power upgrade kit.

Once Westers has the manual tune for the GMPP, I may purchase the kit from gm parts direct and install it myself, then flash my ECM with the my HPtuners.  :)

The $650.00 probably includes the parts, labor, and tune where as the $473.20 doesn't.  Just speculating...

Probably the route I'l go also, although DDM's recent project is looking better and better....

Watch out for shipping charges on thses super low prices. This was discussed on the Solstice forum.

edit: Just checked it myself. They want ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS shipping and handling. Two words - RIP and OFF. Buy it from Crate Engine for $550 and pay $5 shipping, or other known honest vendor.

There's only about a 20 dollar difference between the two so I wouldn't say they are a ripp off.  They're the second cheapest place I know of so far, no matter where they insert thier profit margin.

Crate Engine Depot shipping is $8.95, GM Parts Direct shipping is usually a lot higher, they will tell you if you ask the shipping is where they put there margin, so it's not really shipping it's the old shipping and handling routine. Price ends up about the same as CED, the $650 from GM includes nothing but a higher margin, you still have to pay the labor for the install.

Lyndon has a manual kit, complete from Snaponbob, he unfortunately can't get the car to the dealership for the install. He also has an extra set of TMAP sensors from 2kwk4u, so if he gets the manual tune soon, he can install his own kit.

OK what can Lyndon do with the GMMP tune to make it better, well lets see I am already way over what GMPP makes with just the Wester's tune, the GMPP uses a 3 BAR TMAP, in English that means max boost can be up to 29 psi instead of the 25psi for the 2.7 BAR TMAP that is stock. Most of us with the Wester's hit 25 psi peaks now and 22, 23 most of the time. I am guessing with the new TMAP sensors we should be seeing 25 as a base and peaks of 27. Think of the difference between the 18-19 we had stock and the 22-23 we have now with the tune. Turbo's are not linear but should be a very nice increase.

Gunny, I agree with your take on the final price, but the way they GET there is just not a "clean" way of doing it. I wonder what the price would be if one were to walk in and say "I'll take one, here is my $480"?

They'd probably tell you the 473 is an internet special and charge you 560 but you'd save ten bucks on shipping.

Did Lyndon actually GET those sensors yet?  I haven't heard from him, but I'm sweatin' it... tomorrow marks 3 weeks since I shipped...

I don't know if he got them but don't sweat it, I sent my ECM up once and it was "lost" for 3 weeks in Customs and my car sat parked the whole time, that was back before Lyndon supported HP Tuners. I tracked the package and it got from me to Canada in 1 day, and tracking was not updated for 3 weeks. Then all the sudden it was there.

He also has a complete GMPP tune kit I arranged for him. He says he is sort of snowed in so hasn't gotten a car to a GM store yet.

I hate those guys...  I'd rather pay a couple extra bucks with Crate Engine Depot. At least they understand customer service.

Didn't agree until I wrote them and asked for a shipping deal if I bought a dozen sets of Cobalt door handles:

Quote
Gmpartsdirect.com sells parts near published dealer cost plus a percentage for a shipping and handling fee. This fee is not FedEx charges only. The shipping and handling pays for the shipping charges plus our other expenses like web programming, employees, etc.
Another way to explain this is, we are selling you the part near published dealer cost, the shipping, and handling pays all of our expenses associated with running the web site. The amount left over after our expense is our profit. Keep in mind our overall price is a tremendous savings over retail price and in most cases is even cheaper than dealer wholesale shipped to your door step, and without leaving the convenience of the Mouse.
Compare the overall price delivered to your door.

Joe will be reading the GMPP tune for my manual GXP this weekend and will then, as far as I know, forward that to Lyndon.  Hope my tune will assist Lyndon in refining his tune for manual GXPs which includes the "no lift shift" feature.  I will probably have Joe take my car for a drive before we begin working on it so he can see what the "no lift shift" is all about.

I couldn't take it...  broke down today and ordered the part from CrateEngine.com for a total of $563.  The dealership quoted me $82 to install it.  This part is on back order though so I might have to wait a few weeks before it ships.

I hope we didn't miss out.  I'm not sure if GMPP is a direct subsidiary of General Motors or not... perhaps they layed off the people who were making those parts!

I wouldn't worry about that tbone as the sensors are made by Bosch and not by GM.
