, If you buy new T-56, it's only about $6300

. And all the leg work is done for you

. I spent almost that, swapping a STi 6MT for my 05 Legacy GT's 5MT. I was the 1st to do this in the 4th gen. Legacy far as I can tell. It's a lot of leg work to figure everything out for a successful swap that will last the test of time. I have over 140k on my swap,(216k on the car) with no issues. I have over 87k on my Sol. GXP & clutch is still hold fine. But when it goes, I will diffidently keep this on the table as an option.

Its the half the price of the current Mini Automatic transmissions.
Dealerships charge $12,000 to replace one of those.

This is cheap in comparison

do you have times for in between accelerations (i.e. 60-100 mph) from your set up with the factort tranny?
if yes, it would be great to see the same measurements with the T56

i have a feeling it will be a remarkable difference!

I have posted those times with HPT logs.
I personally really like the shift points and cant wait.
Since my engine is out of the sky the timing for me is perfect.

If anyone needs a stock 5 speed with a Spec 3+ clutch make an offer

Not a problem. No one got to drive it last year while it sat in the body shop. I am going to cross my fingers every day for the rest of the year just to make sure it gets down with no issues.

I am adding Meth, so it should have similar power to the E47 while in your area without the need for corn.

Technically yes.

Blame Dave for coming out with a killer kit again. He just seems to figure out stuff that I cant say no to and the timing could not have been better as the engine and trans are currently not in my car
I really should just have my paycheck direct deposited to DDM and then ask them to pay my mortgage. It would save paperwork and Ivy would probably manage it better than I do.

And no for GJ in any parking situation

Davea couple of questions:

1.) what is the tq rating of the DDM clutch kit?

Any LS T56 will work as splines are the same in them just get any LS T56 and change to GTO style shifter which I don't believe is much different than the camaro or trans am

If I had a choice, I'd replace the AR5 with a AZ6 over a T-56 unless I absolutely needed the 400ft-lbs + of torque capacity.

They use that trans for medium torque applications like the RX-8 and S2000, vehicles with torque of a maximum of 200 ft-lbs. Not sure our tuned LNFs with maybe 375 Tq would work happily with them.

The advantage of the Tremec is ready availability of a used transmission. There may be better ones out there. Many performance 6 speeds move 5th gear to 1.00 ratio and have the sixth speed as the OD ratio, so you end up with a close ratio 5 speed with an OD gear for touring instead of a wide ratio with only 4 useful gears and two OD ratios (not convinced that a 0.5 6th gear is really that useful over a 5th with 0.74.

An example of a trans that would work would be the Getrag/Toyota V160 that they used in the Supra twin turbo but it would not have the advantage of ready availability.

Oops, I meant the AZ6 (which was in non-V CTSs), but the main thing I'd be considering is shift quality. T-56 doesn't feel as nice as an AR5 or a lot of other transmissions, regardless of the car it's in.
