Topic: Backup light wiring

I'm looking to wire a backup camera into my back up light on my 08 redline . Can anyone tell me how to find the correct wire in the trunk area. Also what is the best way to feed the wire from the camera to the trunk from the license plate .

Light green wire in this bundle on the passenger side of the trunk.

I know the wire runs through the footwell in the passenger side and up the right side of the car. If you are just looking for a wire to turn on the backup camera just pull the kick panel on the passenger side and get the wire there. It's the shinier of the two green wires if I remember correctly.

If you are not sure use a tester with key on and put in and out reverse the tester will let you know Beep or light up depends on the tester.

FYI, I recall it being the *duller* of the two mint-green wires.  Be sure to test it with a meter...

It may well be as it's been a few years.

Guess it all depends on how youre wiring it up.
If you have an indash screen with back up camera capabilities, most integration harnesses have the reverse wire right the for you.
If your doing a mirror or small screen off to the side, then the kick panel mentioned is the best bet for that.
But for the camera itself, no reason needed to run the power/ground all the way through the car and can just get the wire in the trunk.

I'am just needing to power the camera so it's the trunk for me .thanks to all who responded .
