Our May 24th weekend is coming up in two weeks and I have 4 days off work so we are planning a trip but we need your help.

We live near Niagara Falls in Canada and we'd like to travel maybe 7 or 8 hours into the states for a nice weekend. It'd be a bonus if there were other Kappa owners to hook up with, twisties would be fun too. Twisties aren't mandatory though 'cause my wife Denise isn't a big fan.  :barf2:

Where to go and what to do?
Just trying to do my part...

What are you looking for, romance, sight seeing, mountains, beaches, none of the above?  We always like going to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.  :)

Would like to hook up with some Kappa folk, see some sights and romance is never bad.   :D
We talked about going to Philly for a few days.

Key West is a bit far to drive for a weekend Bob and we've been to Cuba. Had a great time there, it's a really popular place for Canadians to vacation although we've only been there once.

If you hit Philly let us know, us NY, NJ, PA, DE folk may be known to have driven down there for lunch before.

Southern Ohio/Kentucky. Lexington is beautiful with great roads and you can do the bourbon tour. The horse farms and cabinet side make it romantic. Stop in ohio and we have crazy roads! There are active kappas in both areas

Rockport MA

A great little fishing town.

If you head there ie: Rockport, you also can head south to Newport RI, Check out Tiverton also nice scenery with farms and ocean views, then move on down to Mystic Connecticut, by way of Point Judith RI. Nice rides all through those areas.
Mansions in Newport, and beaches and a must ride in Newport is the 12 mi drive. Some turns but it all great views. :drive:
Point Judith, a nice shore ride. If you ride through to Mystic head onto some of the alternative highways, I don't know which highway it was, but every bridge that you passed through was built different as if the each road had there own designer for the town that they where paved on. I happened to see that when I got diverted off of 95 last year When I headed to NJ. Then after all, that you meander home through Lake George NY. Always a nice area. Just some thoughts.  :drive:
I envy you for your long weekend, I am stuck at work for an outage, that is going on till June.

Given how far you want to venture (and this is biased of course) but Chicago is a great great place to spend 4 days. It's a wonderful ride through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - you can drive along the east side of Lake Michigan if you want. The city itself has so much to do and has the LAkefront and beaches open - the VIEWS are treeeemendous (wink wink). Take a look at some maps but do consider Chicago!!! Critter
I always wanted to be somebody when I grew up - I realize now that I should have been more specific!!

The problem is there are so many great places to go in a 7 hour or so radius...

There's a beachside road in Cambria, California called Moonstone Drive, where the forest meets the sea, that has several very romantic inns and B&B's. Plus central coast wine region (read wine tasting) is just minutes away. As is Hearsts Castle.
