Yes....but!

Throw a turbo on one and it is a whole new game.

I agree 100% but turbo on an S2000 in my country is mission impossible, I was thinking to buy one already tuned in US and shipped, but after sawing a case here I gave up. There is only one turbo S2000 in my country and it is used for shows, never saw it on streets/races and that tells a lot.

That shouldn't have been a problem.  See http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0801_turp_greddy_honda_s2000_turbo_kit/index.html
for an easy to install complete turbo kit that gives 299 RWP.

These kits aren't any big deal to install - usually an intense weekend does it.

Adding a turbo to an S2000 isn't a very good way to go. The powertrain on the car can't take much more power. The S2000 isn't a  good platform for power upgrades without changing lots of things.  I have some S2000 friends and the diff is notoriously weak. The transmission can't take a whole lot more power either from what I remember..

So most S2000s we see around here have minor engine addons, suspension and body mods. Hardly anyone in the GTA (7 million people) has a turbo S2000 or seriously upgraded engine because of the powertrain limitations and cost.
