Australian Supercars Championship

I mean, since there's a F1 thread...

Anyone else follow this series? I've been watching all year, and I'm hooked.

Think of it like NASCAR, but done the right way. All cars follow their "stock" patterns, the sanctioning body uses front/rear spoilers to equalize drag/downforce across all the different platforms. The cars still have doors, and have to use some stock parts (taillights are one, for whatever reason...) Ford and Holden run pushrod V8's, the latter being based upon the Chevy NASCAR engine.

The races? Well, they're on road courses. The driving is excellent, IMO this is the direction NASCAR really needs to go if they want to revive their sport. Races are often close, and you get plenty of "rubbing is racing".

Back in the day, they had these on the old Speed network. I refuse to pay $100+ a month for something that I don't use that often, so I just pay $10/month for Motortrend on Demand, and stream via that.

I used to watch these when they were broadcast.  They guys don't mess around.  Pass on the outside of a turn, and you will be bumped off the track.   AND THAT'S OK!!!!

Incredibly awesome to watch.  Critterman was the one who tuned me into those while they were being broadcast
