Florida is not lock down yet and I do not think it will take place either, since Dade and Braward counties are the hardest hit  Those are the South Florida population including Palm Beach County where I live, but although we have a few cases is not like the other 2 counties. The governor just made a mandate that anyone coming into Florida (by air) from New York will have to quarantine for 14 days.
All the South Florida beaches have been closed. I am hoping that the cocktail of the 2 medicines, that will start been tested in New York will be the game changer.

It is amazing to me that so many States are still not in lockdown.  CA has been for over a week already.  I know the spread is different in different places, but the results from the Dictatorships / Marshal Law countries is overwhelmingly positive in the results.   San Diego is very nice right now.  Little to no traffic, my FAVORITE two months of the year (March and April) with a little rain, full bloom of flowers, tress etc.  My vegetables are just starting to produce, citrus is in season all around the neighborhood (and being given away free) and pretty much everyone I have spoken with is handling things quite well.  No panic, no menace.  Lots of others helping people where they can.  At this point, I have to admit, I am really impressed with humanity (at least, very local to me) and I hope it continues.   Stay safe everyone.

Kelu - I can't even make fun of you right now.  I want to make sure the 3 of you stay safe and healthy.  There will be plenty of time for us to race when this is all over.  Your car vs one of mine.  You pick the distance, I'll pick the route.

No problem about that, who cares about the car now :D

No, it will take some months to be finalized with all the offices closed and a huge wave after re-opening.

Yeah, we are looking very cautious to US as it seems it started later than European countries.

We will stay safe, we are doing more than is asked, that's why we are in isolation for 2 weeks now. You stay safe too with the entire family and friends.

No :( even my unit allows work from home, because I got stuck in Romania they don't allow me, seems they are working to update the rules to allow people like me to work.
It was cold, freezing in the last 5 days during the night, we had 1' of snow over the weekend, I'm trying to do some online course about web development technologies which I'm using and waiting the better weather to start taking care of the garden.

What about you?

I am doing the work from home thing which hasn't been too bad.

The weather here has been snow and freezing temps to rain, fog, and sunny 60 deg days all within the last 4 days.  It makes doing work outside kind of difficult.

I was hoping to have some new avionics already installed in the plane but between the weather and now the virus that has been delayed.

I have done more cleaning around the house then I normally would.  I'm afraid to think what home improvement projects I will end up doing if this last too long.

Hmmmmm, don't think you can fly there.............   What is the range on your plane?   Maybe the great northern route.

Oh common SA, can a small aspect like range stop you from achieving something? :D
How about filling empty space of the plane with fuel canisters and then route a fuel line in the tank?

They actually do that on some aircraft to fly them across the ocean.  I don't know if anyone has done that with my model plane.

I'm not sure I could spend 10 hrs in that cockpit.  I would want to be able to stand and stretch more often than that would permit.

Not only would it be faster to fly commercial it would be a lot more cost effective, avgas is around $5-6 a gal and my plane burns around 9.5 gal an hour.

A friend of mine had one of those push/pull airplanes, they used to fly to the Yucatan all the time.  I was talking to them once when they flew over to Isla for breakfast with Chris and I.  It cost them around 3k to fly from Indiana and back.  You could fly comercial for around 400.  It is not a cheap hobby.  They also had to upgrade their radio (at a large cost) because they were flying over water.

Sorry for posting this here Kelu but could not find a topic where most of our members would see this question, thanks.
This has to do with all the masks out there specially the ones use in hospitals, but hopefully it can work for any mask. The mask should NOT have any metal parts!!
Can someone ask an expert the following: if I put the mask in the microwave for lets say 30 seconds to 1 minute, will this KILL or completely sanitize the mask so it can be reused?.
I know UV light is been use, but microwaves are every where.
Thanks

From that link from above: https://www.livescience.com/sanitizing-medical-masks-for-reuse-coronavirus.html

However, they wrote, "70 C / 158 F heating in a kitchen-type of oven for 30 min, or hot water vapor from boiling water for 10 min, are additional effective decontamination methods."

From WHO website regarding SARS virus from 2003:
https://www.who.int/csr/sars/survival_2003_05_04/en/
Quote
Heat at 56°C kills the SARS coronavirus at around 10000 units per 15 min (quick reduction).

Genetically SARS from 2003 and this new one SARS_COV_2 are 96% same if i remember correctly.
I know extrapolation is not advisable in terms of medicine BUT they seem to be destroyed at moderate temperature.

HOW COME SAUNA OR HOT VAPOR are not effective regarding the 2 above aspects???
