Does that mean the Bronco is not happening now?
It's still on order, but with all of their issues, who knows when it might arrive.  I've also realized, it's not going to be a good rock crawler, which is what I like to do when offroading.  Its good for sand and dirt, but IFS does not articulate.

Next thing you know you will be buying a used Sky.
Im keeping the Alfa Romeo.

Nice score Elff! Looks to be in really decent shape for a jeep of that age.

Im keeping the Alfa Romeo.

At least the carbon bodywork won't rust through.  My one-time pride & joy, an AlfaSud Sprint Veloce, rusted through the sills within 2 years from new :(

Elff how's the new to you Jeep?  How are Reed and Shiny doing?

Had my Jeep out this weekend, technically I stayed on the road but Illinois roads are pretty much trails given the way they maintain them.

We had a blast 4wheeling last weekend.  Both are doing very well.
Shiny is trying to book me every weekend to go 4wheeling.  She is addicted.
I need some time to button up some things on the jeep and get it inspected.

Today I installed new 315/75r16 tires and put in the rebuilt front shocks.   It really tightened up the street handling and going down 1 tire size will significantly preserve my drivetrain.
Also removed the hard top and cleaned up the interior in preparation for all new floor carpets, mats and a cool soft top/tonneau combination.

Im gonna try to avoid that with this one.

At the moment I have 2 things to address before I really go hard core rock crawling.
Rear locker isn't working. Not sure why yet, but will figure it out.  I think it's the air line.
Rear Flex brake line is not tied to the frame and might not be long enough.  It's just waiting to be ripped off.
Easy fix and will order spares because they are good to have.

Where are the hooks for the rope ladder?

I use a portable trampoline. Rope ladders are so 2017

My Jeep would cause global warming if we drove it out your way.

Speaking of climate problems those forest fires out your way are causing us to have hazy days for about the last week.  Damn Californians must not care about the environment outside of their state!  I wish they would get done making smores and put their fires out already.  It's kind of hot out right now why do they think they need a fire anyway?

If they would just leave those monkey's alone

Nice score Elff! Looks to be in really decent shape for a jeep of that age.
Thanks, It's even better now.  I cleaned up the frame rails, painted them with some rust paint, repainted the gas skid and repainted the diamond plate under the doors.   This week, the wife is going to do a major paint correction.  The paint has some nice flake in it, but it's all oxidized.  It should really look nice after that.  I have to move the flex part of the rear brake line, and that is the last thing it needs to be off road safe.

With how well Jeeps hold their value, plus the fact that the used car market is out of control, you will have a hard time finding a good deal right now

I think you could say that about any vehicle at the moment.  I have been looking at used trucks and what you used to pay for something with 100k on the clock will have 250-300k

Critter - Just picked up a pick up with 38K miles for $3,800!

1999 Dodge Dakota RT
Black, Regular Cab
38k miles, one owner

There are deals out there still.  Just have to be open to possibilities and ready to pounce.  Keep some cash handy for a deposit and go see the truck as soon as you see it listed.

Even new there are some decent deals to be had. I got my new Dodge about a month ago, think the deal was more than fair. Haven't said anything or posted pics because my phone seems to now use a format I can't post on here...

Do you think GJ could get out of the state of California (he has to stay in the USA, Mexico doesn't count) on just $200 worth of gas in a Dodge Dakota?  My guess is no.

That would be his problem  :)  and he would still have to get back.  But I would foot the bill for dinner.

450 for gas
250 for room
100 for McDonalds

800 or so to get it here, plus then Grayhound home probably another 150 plus meals.   About 1200 or so.  Guess I should offer a bit more.

450 for gas isnt even close. It would be easily over $1,000. Figure 2600 miles and 10mpg at best.

Why does that truck get such poor gas mileage?

My Jeep on 37s got better than that.

We cleaned up the interior and installed new Carpet and mats

Installed some heated LED Projector lights

Did a first pass on paint correction and installed a nice Summer Top Combo

I am replacing the sway bar disconnect system, and while I am doing that I will sand down and repaint the front bumper to get rid of the surface rust and install my winch.
Then it is ready for Rock Crawling.
