I think it does. Sports car are more capable than your average econobox or pickup. Better handling, brakes, acceleration all enable you to push the limit more while still being able to give yourself a good safety margin.

Driving is all about knowing YOUR limits. It is possible to have the reflexes and skill to push the limit just as it's possible to struggle driving safely at the speed limit.

The Libertarian in me says you should be able to drive whatever speed you want, then have the book thrown at you if you act irresponsibly and screw up.

Couldnt say this better myself. This car (with just backbone/probeam and lv front brace) has more capability than I have balls so I think Im safe for now taking 25mph s-sections of back roads at 55mph with no tire squeal and not crossing double yellows to be my limit. Im also lucky to have all kinds of mountain driving with five minutes of my house so I do get some practice whenever i feel like it.

just DON'T.. too many idiots, too many idiots that don't know how to drive, too many idiots that think they know how to drive.

40+ yr dragon veteran on 2 and 4 wheels.
have lost 4 friends (all on 2 wheels)  over the years, logging trucks, road slides, trees falling,  only one died at his own hand(and we still not sure a medical condition wasn't to blame for that.

the issue is that  road is sneaky.. theres are 4 very dangerous places that seems to bite everyone.  just find the sopt with all the bike plastic nailed to the trees or the WB plaques on the  downside after the sweepers.

ther are 4 curves goind up you swear  are banked the "correct way" but halfway thru or as you exit you quicly learn otherwise.    esp onthe shors S after the 90 LH coing up the mtn.half the road leans towards the  cliff.  there are two downhill spots that bite everyones ass too.. the  befre mentions  S's ngoing doen near the top   and a set  of swischtbacks going dwon that the curve flattens and will throw you off the mtn quickly...

SO IF YOU DECIDE TO GO.. MAKE YOU FIRST TRIP UP AND BACK SLOWY, STUDY THE ROAD, AND THEN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.

BUT UP UNITIL 15 YRS AGO you could go out on a  weekday and have a nice spirited ride or drive up and not worry oabout some  idiot crossing lanes or crashing...  Not any more
its a 24/7  shit show now.. with every  wannna be knieval, andretti, irwen and stenhouse, trying to screw up sumin.   at least they now now have a fell pull over places.

I was up last year to take some friends who just had to go, argh, and I watched as some moron was  waving at the photographer(theres usually aobut 4 places the set up) and ran his 3 wheeled POS right into the embankmant!
I just gave him the thumgbs up as we rode on by!

Oh forgot to methion the Blount county POPO whe enjoys  busting ass  when they know its busy.
