Central Florida Solstice
« on: April 06, 2010, 05:15:41 PM »
Hello all. My name is Forrest (Thus the user name) and I live In Daytona Beach, FL. I'm 18 and recently purchased a 2007 GXP in Dark metallic Silver (Sly? I think?) with a black top. My last car was a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.
I've been in love with the Solstice ever since it came out. I recently found my new car at a small time dealer in Mt. Dora, and after negotiations, got my car out the door for $3,500 below what they were asking. :D
After a few bumps in getting a loan for the remainder of the car amount (thanks to mistakes and incompetence along the way) I am due to close on the car tomorrow, April 7th. I'm already planning my modifications for the car, as I was a big DIY guy with my Grand Prix, and hopefully I may be able to help here and there with a few issues/ideas you all may have for the Solstice.
This may sound cheesy, but I’m glad to be joining you guys, as I’ve been trolling for a long time now, and those I’ve already spoken with (Norm :) ) make this place seem like a great place to get ideas and share some of mine.
Pics go up tomorrow, and a list of mods go up with the pics....although I'm sure from mentioning Norm y'all already have an idea of what I'm doing.  :D

Hello again! Okay. So I have my car now, and oh my goodness. 60 comes a lot faster than I imagined. Had a great drive back today from Mt. Dora with the top down, and finally fixed my mirrors while cruising the highway. I'm really looking forward to this car now especially that summer is coming :D

Don't mind the camera date :P Just to lazy to change it

My car

And my favorite part  :yay:

And it's not Norm's secret project by the way lol. I was just getting sideskirts and fenders from him. But I noticed nobody had painted their hoodliner yet.... or at least there was no "How To" on it.... So I was gonna do that first, just so I could have contributed something halfway usefull haha

Edit: And I just saw the cupholder was broken -_- Looks like its time for a billet cupholder!

Welcome to the forum.
However you should have invested the 1st $500.00 in the GMPP tune, then go from there with other mods.
You could have also done Westers, Trifecta, DDM or Werks tune.

And as for the tune, the car goes plenty fast enough for me right now. I don't really need the tune, but I may look into it. Who Knows  :idk:
