SNEKR reorganizing as KRONUS
« on: July 03, 2010, 11:03:20 AM »
Southern New England Kappa Roadsters is reorganizing as Kappa Roadster Owners Northeast US (KRONUS). We have decided to do this, 1) to broaden our appeal to Solstice and Sky owners in the rest of New England (NH, VT & ME) as well us upstate New York, and 2) to hopefully organize more, wider reaching cruises and runs in areas where none currently exist. In the spirit of "time for change," we are adopting KRONUS as our new name, a homonym of Chronos, in Greek mythology the personification of time.

While serving a specific region, membership in KRONUS is informal and open to anyone who owns, covets or even just appreciates the GM Kappa platform as represented by the Saturn Sky, the Pontiac Solstice and Solstice Coupe, and the Opel GT.

At this time there are no plans to remain under the GM Roadster umbrella. Initially we plan to operate independently, but look forward to shared events with neighboring Kappa groups and to ultimately aligning with a reconstituted national organization, if a credible one emerges.

In the meantime we will continue posting to the Kappa forums and look forward to seeing all of our Kappa friends this year and in to the future. Besides the Forums, you can find us at Kappa Roadster Owners Northeast US where we will always cross post event news and plans as well as photos of our past events.

We wish you all many topless days,
KRONUS Organizing Committee
Gary, 27rings, Sunruner19

With special thanks to T and Mark for all their hard work over the past years and for making our continued success possible.

Heheh, sorry but the new name sounds like a new bad guy alien on Dr. Who :)

Anyway, good luck with the new org.

Jeremy, thanks for offer.  I'm sure as we get events rolling we will need help. Speaking of that any ideas for events, meets or runs?

SAILFEST CRUZ-IN (New London), Putnam Friday nights Cruz-in, Ocean Beach Park (New London) Friday night Cruz-in, Mohegan Sun Wednesday nights and dinner get together. You remember the whole fireworks thingy they do every Wednesday...

Just a short cruise through Middletown/CT-9/CT-146/Goodspeed park picnic... (Steve Butcher has the route).

Another cruise out by my place (have a longer route thru Durham/Middletown/Hadam to the Essex Town park for a picnic.  (this is a level 7 of 10 drive, not for the faint of heart, serious twisties near the CT river)

Lunch at the beach (Nice Sunday event)

Getting with LISSC for a Long Island run would be fun too.

I have a complete listing at home of all the coastal CRUZ-IN's for CT. I will post an update later.

Get with Steve Butcher, he has the SOL #1 race team contacts, and Lime Rock, and a MOD MEET setup for sometime in the near future...

Think it is just a tune, align, and cruise...
