FXBG to VA BCH- ITALIAN RAMBLE 2011
« on: December 14, 2010, 06:14:14 PM »
So I was thinking of making a run from Fredericksburg to Virginia Beach via some back roads, bridges, and twisties. My goal was to put the top down and hit the pavement. I know the owner of the #1 rated Italian resturant in VA Beach; use to work there for years. Portions are huge and the food is awesome and the service is excellent. Because they do so well reservations are recommended. You can look it up if you want: Fredericko's Italian Eatery. I do this a lot actually heading down 17 south out of Fredricksburg. The trip takes me about 3 hours depending on stops and cops; no cops, no stops. I've made it in 2hrs and 10 minutes once, but that was a 'moonlight ramble' on my motorcycle. I was thinking of heading down in Late April or May so the weather isn't too hot. A big group could be a lot of fun. Alternatively, we could do a Moonlight Ramble which is a Balls-out timed ride starting at mid-night. Arrive just in time to have breakfast and watch the sun come up. I usually then hit Federicko's for an early dinner. If anyone is interested, let me know. Could add in some check points and make it a reall rally, but I'm not paying for peoples speeding tickets. Quickets time gets dinner for free from the other drivers. Open to other ideas as well. Just looking to do something different.

Looks like there is some initial interest. I'll start working on a good route and get with my friend (the owner) and start setting something up. This could be real fun. I'll continue to update.

Sounds interesting but, when I googled the restaurant, it seems they have had a lot of violations. Never seen that before and I google restaurants all the time. I'm sure it's fine, but it just struck me as odd.

SKYJACK and I usually take 17 down from Rednecksburg to Williamsburg when we do the Williamsburg Cruise so it sounds nice.

Let us know more as you decide.

My friend and I did the same route from Woodbridge for lunch a few months ago, on motorcycles. Federickos is very good, and has great views of the ocean!

I might be interested.

You might be thinkin of a different Fredrico's.  This one is hidden in a stripmall and really is one of the best italian places around.

I'll join in on this fun-run!   .....but it'll just be from the 264 exit the three blocks to the restaurant as I live at that first street.

Any more thought on doing this run? Spring/summer/ or fall? Just trying to plan out the driving season early this year. Looks like there will be plenty to do and wouldn't wanna miss a good meal with great friends!

Great place! My first job was dishwashing there but I was really hoping to get an 'in' with the 'family' instead.

Of course he does, its just a different kind of project than most are used to, using the worlds oldest profession, actually it kind of sounds like GJ's a politician.
