Damn it, my rear is leaking!
« on: January 26, 2009, 08:28:55 PM »
Well now that I have your attention

Noticed those dreaded spots in the driveway last week, so Friday I stopped by to make an appointment and made sure the tech knew about my lambo doors.

Made the appointment for today and ended up talking to Josh (the tech) for about an hour as he looked the car over.  He made all the appropriate noises to swell my head as he talked about my car, and said he really wanted one.  Even went so far as to call his wife out to look at it.

Ended up being the vent, but I knew that as Josh crawled under the  car in the service lane to check.  Got it back today and the cashier said "Josh told me to tell you he checked everything and the car is fine"  The cashier is Josh's wife.  She went on to say it was customers like me that makes him really want one.

Anyway I left feeling really good about the service and thought I would share.

Great to have a good service like that. I too have had good service from my dealer and I think that those that have had bad service are in the minority. I hope Josh gets his car and if he does don't forget to tell him about the forum.  ;)

Where did you get the service done?

Certainly an unfortunate way of starting the thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :gaah:

The diff leak on a Getrag differential is not unlike an intake manifold leak on a GM V-6. It is not IF it leaks, but only WHEN it leaks.

Josh is already on the SF but I gave him a link to this one.  His wife (and new baby) are the reasons he doesn't have one.

Critterman, I will supply you with a cork for your rear end leak.  Have you considered depends?

Josh, is a good guy and I always have gotten good service in Laural.  I use them and the place in Manassas as well.

Chuck

Has anyone taken the front bushing squeak to either place?  The only place I know that has experience with that is Joe's dealer (aka as the crusher)

Josh - Laurel ... check.  Is that at FOX?

It's looking more and more like I'm headed for Meade, by the way.  Just waiting for the assignment to drop.

My rear was leaking a week ago Sunday but it was because of a bowel prep for my colonoscopy on Monday.

The expulsion room (fart room) after the exploration is fun as well.

It kills me that they call that stuff you gotta drink "Go Lightly".  Talk about a misnomer!!

Scariest thing about mine was the Army Doc that did the work.  He was a bit of a cowboy.  He was listening to Metallica when I walked in, and just before I went loopy, he asked me if I was "ready"... grabbed the hose and said... I kid you not... LOCK AND LOAD!!

My wife and I both had colonoscopies on the same day at the Mayo..The cleanse procedure isn't too pretty when you both have to share a hotel room bathroom..If a relationship can survive that it can survive anything..

I really didn't mind any of it, even the prep, which everyone says is the worst part.  The nurse that started my IV was a former Air Force medic and he slipped that needle/catheter in so well I didn't even feel it.  I remember absolutely nothing about the procedure itself except entering the room and waking up in recovery.  Good thing is I had 2 benign polyps which were removed and don't have to have another one for 5-6 years.

All these colonoscopy stories are humorous.  And Spiky's complaining about pinkeye!

Whip, with a couple of polyps at your age, six years is too long.  Go with 3 to 5.

I prefer the term rusty Sherrifs badge...I too remember my "scoping" fondly, I remember looking at the foot and a half long scope and asking are you going to stick that in me, Dr. said no and grabbed a six foot one, shortly after that I passed out....  next thing I remember was being prepped for surgery, then passed out again.
