That's not that bad, landing and takeoff fees?  Airport fees while parked?

Possibly, depends on the airport and a lot of times those fees are waved or reduced if you buy fuel.

Sometimes commercial flights may fly faster but if you have a layover for a connection then the slow plane ends up being faster.  When you figure going thru security and waiting pre flight to board plus after the flight wait to get bags it can be a lot faster plus I can take whatever I want and not have to worry is TSA going to give me a hard time and it's on my schedule not the airlines.

In this case I can get a direct flight to Dallas round trip for less then half of what fuel would cost for my plane.

Why not fly straight in to Austin?

Not sure that weekend works for me...  need to do some figuring....

If I was flying my plane it would be into Austin.  But for commercial flights the added cost is a lot more than just driving for that Dallas to Austin leg and I would need a rental car anyway.

Big reason to not fly my plane is I don't have the Instrument rating needed to deal with weather.  But I hope to be working on that soon.

A friend of mine used to fly his Cessna 337 to Mexico back in the day.  He was telling me that on his first trip down when he stopped somewhere down south to clear customs they wouldn't let him continue his trip.  It seems he had the wrong radios to fly over water.  So he and his wife flew back to Indiana and flew commercial.  They got the right radios and flew down several times a year.  They had several pieces of property in various locations so I am sure it was a business expense.

If he makes so few mistakes why do they need to make a car that is harder for him to make a mistake?

How about they stop boning Bottas and give him a chance to win.

Just can't believe they would actually say that to the media.

This is why people think they purposely tanked Russell's drive in Hamilton's car.

I do now, didn't a few days ago.  I went looking for it and found a TBD program right after F1 Grand Prix Sunday on ESPN at 7:54am Sunday (central time).  Manually set it to record.  This evening it finally shows as French Grand Prix on the DVR.

Wow I know it was father's day an all but no comments on the race.....
It was great finish and I am glad that Vers was able to pull it off at the end. Also good for Perez as well.
It is also good that Aston Martin was able to get points for both cars and Ferrari did not.

I'm down on Lake Gaston, but did manage to watch the race on ESPN.  I thought it was a good race, just feel bad for Bottas.  Verstapain drove his butt off and deserved the win.  Red Bull has their horns out

I was away for the weekend at a wedding, so I didn't get to watch the race until late, and stayed away to avoid any spoilers.

My thoughts,
Red Bull is clicking on all fronts. Cars are fantastic, Strategy is on point and they have the best Team Work between their drivers.
When Perez let's Verstappen by to go for the win, his radio comment was awesome.
"Lets go get them" [or something similar]
and then still pulls off a podium which nets Red Bull with 2 people on the podium for the first time in ever.

I was happy to hear Bottas go on full blast because he was correct.   MB is not doing well from a strategy point of view and them favoring Hamilton is killing them this year

Finally got to watch the race.

WTF was MB thinking?  I don't mind seeing Ham get passed but Bottas got hosed.  Why didn't they have him pit after Perez passed him so he could at least try for fastest lap?

Mclaren did well, Ric is getting better in that car.

Too bad Red Bull didn't get a 1-2 finish but 1-3 ain't bad.

Pirelli does a poor job with predicting how long their tires will last.

I hate watching the race at that track those damn stripes suck!

Yea, I am worried about whatever subliminal message those stripes contained.  As far as I know, I may have just become the shortest assassin in the history of the Bourne series and am just waiting to be activated by some keyword or phrase.

Austin is similar, but for some reason, it's not too much or overboard like France.

Mclaren is doing great this season and Ricciardo is definitely getting the feel for the car now.  I love watching him when he is confident in the car, because he always does some great passes.

While they still have some work to do. Vettel's experience really seems to be benefitting Austin Martin .

Gasly continues to shine.  I am on the fence about Tsunoda.  He seems very inconsistent.  I personally think Kvyat was better.

Watching Qualifying now.

I love looking at the standings right now.  Such a shuffle compared to what we have seen for the past 5 years.
Spots 5-10 seem to be up for grabs every weekend with even some possibilities for 3rd place not being MB or RB.

LeClerc screwed up Gasly's day, but I feel that was just a racing incident.

A couple more laps and Perez would have had another Podium.   It's a shame about his pit stop.  Those 2 seconds cost him the podium, but quite a difference in how Horner handled it, vs the way Toto handled the screw up with Bottas.
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.horner-praises-perez-for-driving-the-wheels-off-the-car-after-red-bull-pit.3q4IdEVEP2XDzwevy0DwLe.html

Not the most exciting race, but still a good one to watch.

Aside from that, it was just about a perfect weekend for RB.  I am thinking Next weekend will be more of the same.

After qualifying I was disapointed with the race.  Some good midfield action, but all was the same upfront just different color cars.
