Final chapter in the Who Killed Kenny saga
« on: May 02, 2012, 10:45:15 AM »
Many of you know of the issues I've had since having the head gasket done last May, the final chapter is being written now. After complying with the shop's request to put yet another 1000 miles on Kenny, I took him back in for them to deal with. They want another $1000 to go into the engine to see how the oil is going from engine to tail pipe....GM has sort of engaged, but nothing has happened. So I'm taking him home, and parking him. Their repair warranty is not worth the paper it's printed on, obviously. Not another dime will be spent at Bergstrom, anywhere, for anything. My Dad, I'm sure is rolling over in his grave over what GM has become.

Epilogue will be written eventually, just can't happen this year.  :censor:

There is a GM Account on SkyRoadster.  Maybe you could send them a pm to get more help?

Sounds like the dealership is at fault. (Nothing like stating the obvious) GM won't help to make it right? You've talked to them about this recently?

Melanie, where are located other than "in the back room". I want to see if I can get a contact number for a GM rep for you locally.

I'm in Neenah, Wisconsin-talked to GM CS last year in Sept, never heard back after the initial call from them, and Monday afternoon the CS rep lurking on the forum asked for my vin, then nothing. Even after I posted back yesterday that I needed to know if they were doing anything, or just in the business of 'appearing' to be helpful. I'd say the forum/FB reps are there for only appearance sake.

When I was having trouble a GM rep. got back to me with a phone call.It took a 2nd call to them though. 2 weeks later they talked to the dealer ,then the dealer contacted me and told me what they were going to do. But I had to keep after them . sorry to hear you are having so much trouble.

Help out with some pressure on GM/Pontiac.  If you are on Facebook, then go to this link and voice your thoughts and concerns.

http://www.facebook.com/Pontiac/posts/10150838955291240?ref=notif&notif_t=feed_comment

I work in customer service and this is NOT they I have ever been expected to treat a customer!

Voices speaking is the only thing that will bring about change in these types of issues!  Our cars grow older and closer to needing serious mechanical care, yet the very company that supposedly trains these techs is either doing a lousy job or they and they dealers just don't care!  We are not the only Ecotech engines out there, yet dealerships like this one are unable to do even do the simplest of repairs.

That's just sucky!  I hate to see Kenny sit.  I know this has been going on for a very long time.  I'll jump on FB and see what's going on.

This is one of the reasons I ended up trading in my truck for a Silverado. Finding someone to do what I cannot with a Kappa is a major challenge. What finally soured me to the car was the water pump going. A pushrod V8 though? Much more that I can do to work on it, and there are plenty of local mechanics who race that engine block.

Truck is also rather bulletproof, though I've already lined out a plan for when the crappy G80 rear diff grenades.

2012 Chevy Camaro 2SS RS LS3 TR6060.

2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. 3.6, manual trans.

I have to agree with everyone else that you're gonna have to hound them until you get satisfaction. Hell I'd be emailing and calling the  CEO of GM if that's what I had to do. I'll see if I can get you contact information specific to your area.

Tell them you're mad as hell and aren't gonna take it any more!   :goat:

:worms: Will see what happens next, finally heard from CS rep, gave her the cliff notes version, abridged, and hopefully will get to speak to a human at GM tomorrow or Wed. She at least asked me if there was another shop I'd be willing to work with, where as it's always been I have to keep taking it back to the problem shop. Hope GM holds their feet to the fire, and makes them pay another shop to open him up. I miss my red boy  :(
