Topic: "Larger" brake master reservoir

I've seen several of the old threads regarding both the GM Racing brake reservoir cap extender as well as the seemingly now defunct "performance reservoir" that was available for a small amount of time. As I dug into it I realized that the "performance reservoir" is actually what looks to be just the reservoir from a run-of-the-mill Vauxhall Vectra. I poked around UK eBay a bit and found a number of breaker yards selling Vectra M/C & reservoir assemblies pretty cheap, so I've message a couple to see about picking one up. The part number of the reservoir appears to be 32067070-1 and fits '02-'09 Vectras (as well as likely some years of SAAB 9-3).

I'll post back what I find out and provide some pics and comparisons assuming that I do get one to put on.

Good thinking! Do you expect greater breaking power with a mod like this? If it helps you, also search as opel vectra. Maybe u can get more results (vauxhall are rhd opels)

Hi Arabas - it's not really about performance, it's about not slopping brake fluid all over the engine bay during high-performance driving (autocross, track). I actually just searched on "vectra"...that brings up both Opel and Vauxhall variants

I've never heard of it been an issue, and I know some pretty serious autocrossers, much better than I am.

Might want to check if there is a leak caused by deformity in the cap seal or the reservoir lip.

I autocross. Prior to getting the "performance" MC reservoir, I'd have brake fluid all over the place (and I wasn't overfilled.)
Installing that solved the issue.

Now I just need something similar for the power steering fluid. (Or a manual rack.)

Quick update on this. I went ahead and sourced a Vectra MC w/reservoir from a breaker in the UK and received it day before yesterday. I pulled the reservoir off of the MC, cleaned it up, and installed it in the Solstice. Perfect fit. Easy peasy as they say over there.
