Any one know anything about the roads in the area?  One of the motorcycle meetup groups I belong to is going to ride out at the end of May and spend the weekend riding the roads.  I don't know anything about them.  Anyone live in that area and can recommend a good and reasonable place to stay?

Thanks, John

The NEO group has several mapped runs for the area. I am sure Diana has them for a GPS. One route you must take is Rt 555. Most of the NEO runs start and finish at the Hampton Inn in Newcomerstown.
I live about an hour and a half away so keep me posted when you are in the area.

Mark probably has better maps than me. Our new vette friend is that way and can help. The roads are a lot of fun and I've been looking for new stuff.

Definitely let us know when you are in the area. We are only a few hours away!

I think it's an ok route and its traffic is heavy during warmer months. I like routes that are not famous. I can't suggest lodging in the area but there are a lot, including bed-and-breakfast type. Like Wartie & ihawk95 suggested, let me know when you are in the area, I'll join you. I'm in Columbus.

Also if you folks have your own route mapped in advance let us know ahead of time and we can pre-run it for you.

Wartie - Doesn't SOW go over that way, or is 555 as far west as we get?

I rather like 555.  In the 6 years I've been running it with the NEO group, the only time we didn't have a good run on it was in October when we got behind a large motorcycle group and they would not pull over for us.  Most of the traffic is very courteous and will pull over when they can to let you by.  It's usually not terribly busy, but we are running it in early May and early October so our timing may be good.

Like Wartie said, if you get the route info, let us know as I'm also up for a pre-run of this.  Or, as I mentioned, one of our new Vette friends who came and played with us in Oct lives in the area.  I have his info and I can fly it past him or maybe even get him to come out and play!  Can you tell I'm looking for new material for us?!?

I think 555 when we end up in Zanesville is as far west as we have gone.

From what I have on the GPS routes I input from Mark's route instructions, none of the SOW routes goes much west of N-Town.

I don't have any of the 555 versions. I don't know where they went?

555 is as far west as we go then.  I couldn't remember where that lake was for SOW long and was thinking it was further west. I get so turned around on those roads I can't tell which way is which!
