For those whose cars are still in Storage.
« on: March 03, 2014, 09:26:52 PM »
I couldn't stand it anymore either. Pulled Elvira out of Storage and drove to Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. Took this photo Saturday morning. We spent the night at Ruby's Inn. This is the second time Elvira had ever seen snow, the first and only time was back in 2008 on the way to the Vegas Nationals in March. After leaving Bryce we drove to Moab and into Canyonlands National Park. The second photo was taken Sunday morning right before we drove back to northern Utah. 1200 miles in 2 days. I just had to get out and drive!!!

Last few winters I have at least gone around the block in March. Sadly, this year will be April, :violin: I hope!

Ditto out west too, I am looking out my 10th floor window and still see over a foot of snow on the ground, we are supposed to have warmer temperatures but with all the snow on the ground the pothole patrol and the salt trucks will be out and about. :gaah:

We got 6 inches of the heavy heart attack snow this morning after two days in the 50s. That sucks. Down to the teens tonight and back up to the 30s by tomorrow afternoon. This, to date (and there will be more), puts us at the 3rd worst winter for snow in Chicago history. We are the coldest on record. Now, there's something to be real proud of. I cannot wait to get the top down and feel the sun on my face - as well as the smile!
I always wanted to be somebody when I grew up - I realize now that I should have been more specific!!

Been pretty much record lows at many times this winter across NA. We were near 25 degrees F below normal for most of Feb. Sigh.

We got lucky yesterday, well, if you could call it that.  Rain started the system and it was a decent one; washed off the brine put on earlier and most of the salt rocks.  Then, ice particles started coming down but not enough to create accumulation, slick spots, or to stay, so it melted and wet the roads.

This morning, the roads were dry and have been dry so far (sunny and colder). We'll see what the next 5-6 weeks will bring.

I for one am hoping for sun and lots of warm weather but for the short term anyway, it's not looking good.   :(

:(  The sad part is that even when it warms up and all the snow melts and roads dry... the tank-trap potholes are going to take months to fix. :cloud:

You guys are wimps.
I've been riding my motorcycle in any weather that is over 33 degrees

Today was sorta warm so I might have driven a little aggressive.   I forgot how fun it is to be leaned over that far.

You sir are my hero.  I only ride when I want to, and I haven't wanted to since November  :)

I do plan on taking an extended in May down to Maggie Valley and depending on how I feel at that point possibly on to Key West.   Want to ride along?

I'm a wimp but if it was 33 degrees out there I'd be in shorts riding around in the Solstice with the top down and the air on.

You would rather go with Monic than me?  What is Monica going to say about that?

Elff, you said you ride the bike even when it's 33 degrees? These people do too it seems. You'll like this one, you got a side car for that bike?   :poke:

Bella could have ridden in a side car but greyhounds don't actually sit.   They sort of hover in a position that looks like they sitting. They mostly stand which freaks some people out.

Critterman,
We are heading down in October
