« on: August 08, 2015, 02:04:45 PM »
WERKS has built a 4 row radiator with oil cooler for my 480 hp V8. Shown with ac coil.

Rear shroud has a 10 and 12 inch fan.

That is Awesome! I'm really debating a bigger radiator for my car. In houston especially the past few days, I've seen coolant temps get close to like 216* in traffic going home after work

Is that a 4 row, or just 2 radiators welded together with the coolant exit on one connected to the coolant intake on the other?

My aviation background is screeming that none of that aluminum is protected.  It'll start corroding. Especially where the steel hardware bolts the bottom plate to the side ones.  Dissimilar metal corrosion will start there and fast, all it needs is some moisture and that won't take long.

Easy to disassemble all the aluminum bits and powdercoat everything.
Just trying to do my part...

Specifically asked for no powder coating etc, wanted aluminum look, ie the cobra.  I live in the desert  too so corrosion forcthe most part is no problem . . . . .

Robert-
Make sure you separate the two different metals. Use rubber bushing or something. All you need it a little moisture in the air to cause major issues.

Yep. Use bi-metal tape or you could probably even spray a coat or two of plasti-dip to separate the contact points of the different metals.

I'm missing something here.  An aluminum shrouding bolted to aluminum radiator is corroding ?

If you use steel bolts, yes.  If the aluminum contacts another metal than you have what's needed for dissimilar metal corrosion.  The dry climate in Phoenix will help but if you wash your car or drive it anywhere more humid you increase your risk.

Robert if after getting the car you still want to sell it, you may want to considered getting a 2013 Z06 or a 2014 Z51 Vette. once you sell it.
Good luck

My exact thoughts ! Pretty sure it will come back as a fully working car this time. Once I get to know the car as fully functional for the first time since beginning this motor swap/upgrades I will know more about how I feel. The offer to sell still stands as of today.

This isn't a "trend" this is a shop advertising services that they aren't capable of following through on, and having poor time management practices.
