New Sky single center inlet hood from Norm
« on: January 02, 2016, 03:11:32 PM »
Hello ' looking for some input on a new concept for our center inlet hood. Wondering on what you guy's think in the additional spear on the inlet area. The idea of the spear in the inlet area was to tie into with our functional fenders.   Extended the rear of the cowl into the windshield, cleans up the wiper area. I have a customer who really likes this. Im in the pattern stage, haven't gone to the full mold yet. Thanks again from Norm

Well FWIW (I don't have a Sky), I REALLY like that!  Especially the center spear (and I'm not a frou-frou kind of guy).  Go for it, Norm!

Cool idea to tie the hood spear to the fender spear, though I'd like to see the hood spear match the design of the fender spear closer.  Norm I've been wondering what you've been up too lately (haven't seen many posts), so good to know you're still creating.

Another nice looking product from Norm so I got to  ask any cowl induction style hoods with out the vents  in the future ? I've seen one on the BB and I really like the look I've talked to my painter about adapting one to my hood this winter I know it may be a one off from Norm but again it's something I'm looking into and would rather buy one all done and sell my stock hood .

Looks good, Norm! But I like the viper hood you make the way it is. Any plans on making a Sky front bumper cover? Pretty please with sugar on top?

X2 on the Front Bumper Cover.  Quite possibly something as small as an upper LED strip switchback Retrofit with a full black grill for the side brake vent/fog light bezels in place of the stock set up would work for me.

I like it. But would really like to see one like the challenger hood and scoops.

IMO, widen the cowl.  The current shape doesn't fit the car. Go another 6" or so on each side and see how that looks.

Looks too "Lund fake stick on scoop" to me. The sudden 90degree-ish angle once it hits the hood ruins it. If it was spread more outwards and blended into the hood, it wouldnt look so cheesy I think.

I like it, would like to see one painted and installed though. Maybe a scoop like this one, a little higher up the hood:

Hey Norm,

Thanks for continuing to develop products for our cars. I'll have to agree with some of the comments. Looks a bit added on or forced. How about something ore blended and simpler like the classic single intake scoop that you have for the solstice, just tweeted to work with the crisper likes of the sky?

Thanks for your continued support.

Hello, well after a long delay finally got the New single inlet hood for the Sky done. The fire in our front building didn't help either, lost a couple of cars and customer parts that where almost ready to ship. Thankfully we did production in the rear building and was able to save most of the molds.
Hope you like her, kept the lines crisp to go along with the crisp lines of the Sky. Notice the fit and how the rear of the scoop extends into the cowl area. Added a center spear up front to flow with the fenders, can be deleted if not wanted. Price for the new hood at $1495.00 Thanks again Norm 574-255-7843
