Wilwood brake calipers go tick tick on turns
« on: January 28, 2016, 12:13:00 AM »
Hi,
I installed a set of wilwood brake calipers a number of years back and never solved this problem. I was wondering if anyone experienced it.

At slow speeds, turning into a drive way, if I crank the steering wheel all the way to the right I hear a tick tick tick coming from the wheels. It's only when it's fully cranked so I'm not that concerned. Just curious.

Has anyone experienced this?

Check the routing of your braided lines. May be hitting inside of the wheel when at full tilt.
Make the right choices now

What kit do you have and what calipers? There are anti-rattle clips in most of the Wilwood calipers, there is a possibility that your anti-rattle clips have come loose/missing/broke. That will cause the pads to click back and forth, that might be your noise. Also, make sure to check that the 3 bolts that hold the hub to the upright are tight while your down there checking things.

Hope that helps,
Dave
