Autocrossers, Inc., a sister club sanctioned by SCCA WDC, will host an Evolution Level 1 Autocross School in Waldorf Md on March 21, 2009.  See the link for details

http://www.evoschool.com/index.php?page=autocrossers-inc-phase-one-school-blue-crab-stadium-waldorf-md

Here's how Evolution describes the Level 1 porgram:

"The "original" Evolution program as developed by the McKamey Autocross School. This first step in the Evolution is where all students start,
regardless of experience. Daylong course builds upon students existing skills, while introducing new ideas to improve one’s times. Students
both ride and drive with Evolution trained national caliber drivers to learn where they are fast and where they need to improve. Small student
teacher ratio of 6:1 insures quality instruction time. Computerized timing provides segment times, which can be compared at various times
during the day. Do to some factors such as, weather, segment times may not be available and are beyond our control.

Combined with race proven skills, concepts, and techniques this course will improve the performance of all drivers on both road and track.
Even experienced driver’s benefit from the Phase 1 course as a refresher for those things they’ve forgotten over the years or perhaps never learned.
No matter what type of car you drive the Phase 1 skills will improve your overall driving abilities.

Note: All students must provide their own two-seat vehicle for the day. Two driver cars are welcome."

Evolution schools are widely renowned as the best way to shorten the learning curve and get faster.  This is the basic introductory course, and will provide an excellent foundation for anyone seeking to break into this really fun game. The roster of instructors at this one is truly incredible.  Sam Strano makes a 3800 lb GT 500 Mustang dance like a ballerina.  You will get almost 25 runs, 18 of them with an instructor.

I am jumping at the chance to get some Evolution instruction.

There is also an Autox Inc. autocross the next day, Sunday.  I am running in that one, too.

Anyone care to join us?

IF not them, then SCCA WDC will certainly have their Level 1, 2 and 3 schools.  I will keep you all informed.

I went to class in Sept 2008 in Petersburg, VA @ VA motorsports park...........it was a blast. :brnout:
One of the instructors is Mike "Junior" Johnson
He was one of the drivers in Setup last year, driving a Sol GXP #15, Skechers.
He'll be more than willing show you what your car can do.   :drag:

Hubby made sure my helmet matched my car   :D

I'll need to check & see if we can go....it would be fun!!!!!

CORRECTION:  Mike "Junior" is not one of the instructors for this scheduled class but his mechanic Courtney is.

Maybe we can sneak out onto the tire test track, down the road from the shop

I just completed phase one and two of evo school what an experence. It was in Cincinnati Ohio. The instructors are top notch and when you are finished you have info overload. With all the runs with the instructors it is hard to keep the smile off your face when you aredriving your solo runs.I would recommend this school to anyone that wants to improve you own skills
