I'm looking forward to these.  Any idea of cost?  how will they come? painted? unpainted? something else?

Thanks

I am pretty sure cost will be 300$+ and they will probably come unpainted like the white ones rudy showed pics of.

No those are old pics of the 1st round on the recessed grills that I took while test fitting them onto my car.  These are the latest from the second revision for the recessed grills and the new foglight grills.

I will be following up with new pics of the foglight grill installed when I get a chance to test fit them.

Update fitting of foglight grills...
« Reply #31 on: April 19, 2009, 10:22:45 PM »
Ok, here's some pics of the retrofitting of the recessed foglight grills onto my GXP's fascia.  Good news is that they will work but the fit is rather tight.  Quite tight that I didn't want to push the entire grill in all the way as I fear I may snap the brittle tabs trying to remove it.  Bad news is that these are not just easy plug and play mods.  You'll have to cut part of the fascia within the grill opening in order to clear the tunnel of this grill.  And it will take time to take off little by little either with a dremel and/or file to make sure nothing interferes with the back tunnel outside surface.

I completely removed the fascia, first step.

Here's a pic with the oem fog light grill removed.

The differences between the two.

With the black cover removed.

I roughly sketched out where I will be cutting with a dremel cutter.

Me cutting with a dremel cutter.

Once I cut out the basic hole, I test fitted the grill only to find out that there was more to cut in certain areas which prevented the grill from sitting all the way flush.

After several cutting and filing of small areas while fitting the grill, I finally got the grill to sit flush.  However, I didn't want to push the last two tabs in all the way as I was afraid that I may snap them removing the grill from the fascia as the material for this SLA piece is fragile.

Here, you can see the flat edge of the grill is not completely flushed to the fascia as I kept the tabs from snapping in place.  Also notice that the metal crash bar is highly visible through the tunnel but does not interfere with it.  I'm considering adding an actual recessed honeycomb patterned grill, similar to the main grills, in the back of the tunnel to camouflage the crash bar a bit.

Here's a few more pics.

The differences between the two on the back side.

Here, you can see how large the hole became from my original sketch.

This is with the black cover back on.  You can see part of the cut-out but not much.

One good thing that you can go back to original without anyone really noticing any cut-out or anything and it doesn't affect the installation of the oem grills.

Rudy, I must have missed something along the way. First I have to say that is coming along great and I can't wait for them to become available but did you paint the factory grills? They look gloss black in that last picture unlike my factory grills.

I would if my car was in my garage.  It's in the shop for a little work down in Lauderdale.  I have to go down tomorrow for the test fit.
