introductions
« on: May 20, 2009, 07:15:24 AM »
Hello, I have already posted a couple times, but I should also introduce myself. My name is rich, hence username rich71.  I have been a member of the redline gxp roadster and solstice forums. For reasons already abundantly discussed, have caused me to drift and take hold of this forum. My sig explains my ride and i am a true fan of the kappa platform regardless of the skin style. I am looking forward to this new community of old friends and some new ones too. I am already enjoying the tenor of this site more than the others. Nuf said,  :urock:

I thought there was limit on how many Sky's we could have here, haven't we exceeded that by now?

and so the solstice is more special than the sky?  :idk:

Please note that I would be driving the Sky had the Solstice not been made. (It just fits my tastes.)
I'd rather be driving! :D

and you can only get bletloops for a Sky, not sure I would let my sister marry a Sky Guy, but then again I don't have a sister.   Huh what I can't hear you because of all that droning from the Sky.

So, I guess we're going to have to find a way to beat you guys on the track. Maybe then we'd get some respect! :P

I will admit that it seems like more car people end up with Solstices, but that doesn't mean all of the Sky owners aren't gearheads.  Myself, I preffered the look of the Sky, but was interested in a ZOK solstice. Till I noticed it doesn't have air conditioning. Great for a track car, lousy when you're stuck in traffic in pouring rain in 90 degree weather. :gaah:

2012 Chevy Camaro 2SS RS LS3 TR6060.

2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. 3.6, manual trans.

Lets seen on the track, I am a Drift fan so I will use that example, Number 1 in the points and the hearts of many Ryan Tuerck in the Gardella GXP. He is kicking everyone's butt, including Viper's and Corvette's. I will admit he took 3rd behind a Sky in Atlanta, but the Sky has a 560 CI NHRA motor a carbon fiber body and tubular frame.

Hence the "Find a way." It's pretty clear we haven't found one yet. :banghead: And you forgot to mention that "Sky" is really a Solstice disguised as a Sky...

I guess if you're buying a car specifically for the track, the Solstice is the obvious choice with the ZOK package. A Sky has the same potential, but isn't marketted at that group.

I think the Sky is marketed to the same people that liked Max Headroom
I like my Solstice the way I like my women: smooth, svelte and slinky :D
Women remember this: Crying is Blackmail

'08 Brazen Gxp purchased new 12/08 with all options - even (sigh) AT. Have GM CAI. Waiting for GMPP and Solo Exhaust. Looking to get together with other local members - perhaps in Doral.

Asylum and Goat - just remember, "Prejudices are the chains forged by ignorance to keep men apart.” :)

No offense was intended it was a pun.

I really have no "prejudices" about Skys, given that prejudice means "an unfavorable opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge"  You see the first Kappa that I got to look over and even sit in was a Sky, meaning I had knowledge before I thought that they were styled wrong for me.  True I had seen pictures of the Solstice but at the time Kappas were pure unobtanium, dealers never had one on hand and nobody ever test drove one if they wanted one they had to order it and hope it was what they wanted when it finally got to the dealer.  After getting to sit in the Sky I could at least tell that yes I would fit in one as that was a big concern for me.  Personally I liked the looks of the Sol better and since I am not one to settle on just good enough I went to the Pontiac dealer....lets face it who passes up the pretty girl to ask out the butt ugly one?  (just an analogy I'm not saying the Sky is butt ugly)

I'm not even going to show my prejudice by commenting on your quote about chains being needed to keep men apart.
