Boost Controller?
« on: May 20, 2009, 06:03:17 PM »
Is there a boost controller I can add to a GXP with the Wester's Race Tune?  Autocross kicked my a$$ this weekend with the instant 25psi boost.

A boost controller wont fix anything, you need to alter the tune to suit your needs.

All I want to do is turn it down about 8 or 9 PSI during autocross.

That will make you uncompetitive, get some sticky tires or simply don't floor it all the way.

A pretty easy and legal solution is back off the wastegate rod, it will reduce boost and after you can just reset it, it will make boost come in later and not as hard.

Ok lead foot,I had the same problem when I first started autocrossing. Ideally try to learn to be  a smoother driver. Smoother is faster or Buy a Hahn adjustable Blow off valve which can adjust when the boost kicks in to your driving style ie- boost delay it works. This allows you to keep your power and boost or if you want no delay in boost you open it up more like for drag racing. Best of all it is hand adjustable and it is easy to install Good Luck Graywolf
