Superchips Tuner
« on: June 11, 2009, 12:08:19 AM »
It seems that Superchips is claiming "auto transmission shifting parameter adjustments" which is the first I have heard of. My question is how come no one else is able to do it? And what are the benefits of it? Like changing the shifting points to right before your power level starts dropping off at high rpm's?

Wester's has been doing it for over a year, it is no big deal but not sure you can do it with just HP Tuners.

Martin said he changed the shift points on Tammy's auto and I'm pretty sure he was just using HP Tuners.

Take that with a grain of toasted salt :)

I emailed Lyndon asking him and he said this "We've slipped clutches with our tuning. I don't believe they can change shift points, but I could be wrong. We can do the trans stuff on some of them, not all of them. I've driven some auto cars, and it's pretty much optimized!"

I'm very interested in tuning a G8's automatic. My gf will be replacing her Mustang with one soon.

Probably GT, GXP may not be worth it. Haven't really started the research yet. But I hear the automatic in the Vette and CTS-V with paddleshifters is as good as things like PDK and DSG transmissions in terms of shift speed and rev matching. I'll have to see if this is available in the G8.

Sounds good.  Lyndon knows what he's doing.  If he felt it was safe he would offer it to all but he's concerned with people slipping their clutches and burning them.   Do the other guys guarentee against clutch slippage?
