That is a very good question, I have been looking at the weather reports all week and they are now up to 50% chance of rain. This run would be pretty long in the rain and some of you are driving quite a ways to get to the starting point. I will go with majority vote. If you decide not to come just shoot me a PM. I won't leave the house before 9:30 I will most likely be at the Livestock exchange no matter what I usually eat breakfast there on Saturdays anyway. If it's just a few sprinkles it would be no big deal, thunderstorms not so good we are going up and across Skyline drive, might be over the rain for part of it anyway. If looks really bad for Saturday tomorrow we can postpone.

Here is the forcast for Woodstock where the Spring House is:

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. West wind between 9 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Hopefully it's one of those days were there are scattered storms here and there, like it's been for most of the week.

I'm so sick of all this rain! It's hard to get anything done at work with it, and it's forcing me to leave the top up. I waited all winter long for summer, only to be greeted with insane rainfall totals. :gaah:

You bought a coupe? Damn. I've been out of the loop too long. Wish I could make this but we leave for Orlando Sunday and will be spending Saturday getting ready. Post pics please.

I spoke to RMRGoat last night, (my son) he drives the big goat, he and I decided we will make the run rain or shine, so use your own discretion we will leave the Livestock Exchange at 11, there will be a gas stop where you can get a drink and relieve yourself about a hour in, then next stop the covered bridge, or maybe Jellystone Park, don't forget the pic a nic baskets.

My friend had to bow out, so it will just be me. I'm in though, unless it's going to pour the entire day. A little rain won't bother me, a lot of it will.

It is overdast and cloudy right now but still dry, looks like it did rain last night, looks like we may skirt the bottom end of it.

An awesome run.  While it lasted for me.  I got all excited in the twisties going up the mountain, got ahead of Goat, and then when I waved him back to the front, I misinterpreted his hand signal, turned right, into the Shenandoah National Park entrance.  Byt the time the ranger let me pull a U, the column was long gone.  I got stuck in a single lane between two mommy vans, could not catch up and poof.  I was on my own.  That will teach me to get out of line.

But the rain rain went away shortly into the run, and I had fun picking my way through the beautiful lush Valley and then returning home.  Look forward to the full report from the main body.

I pulled over and was waiting for you Ben and someone flagged me on, so I thought you were back there, I was a good ways down the road before I new you weren't with us. The run over the second set of mountains on 211 was dry and fast, lots of fun. My son clutch starting acting up on the way back, chatter I told him to do a couple of burn outs but he didn't believe me, got back he checked the GTO forum, guys said do a couple of burn outs, he has a dual palte Exedy clutch they don't like traffic much, do like burn outs. I put on my Z0K sway bar but that's another thread.

My son would not listen, he is taking his car over to a fellow GTO owners for him to "look at". I know the guy he is sharp, he will do some donuts and say all fixed I am pretty sure.

I am glad everyone had fun, it is Fort Valley Joe, but you were close, If we do this again, I might recommend a passenger less run, might be a little less stressful to leave the speed governors at home. I do this run quite often but skip the covered bridge and lunch anytime anyone wants to go just holler. There are shorter versions I do as well.
