Great News!!

Make sure that stubborn Mule takes the time to recover.
There will be plenty of times to enjoy top down driving after a full recovery.

Carol and I are happy that the surgery was a complete success and that your wonderful husband is recovering in your good care.  Life can kind of whiz by sometimes and it takes times like these to realize that we are not exempt from potential dangers.  Also, sometimes make  some changes.  I know I did after the accident.  Ah, won't be long til you will be   :drag:

your pride and joy   :brnout:  and  :woohoo: and :yay: feeling great knowing you own the "hottest" Roadster on the planet!

Thanks to all for your support & prayers.

First night home went well, we both got the best sleep we've had since July 1st.

Jeff was able to have his first "true" shower, unfortunately he didn't have 4 women this time helping him wash his hair & other various body parts.
He had only I in the shower with him (& I still had to make sure he behaved himself)   it was "No honey, not until you can do 2 flights of stairs without getting short of breath"   :D
It's great to have him back home.
Pretty soon we'll be ready for the NAK3D Team. (in more ways than one)   ;)

UPDATE:  Jeff is progressing nicely.  The one of the only problems now is he always did all the laundry.  Last year for his birthday he wanted a new extra large capacity washer with all the bells & whistles so I got him matching washer & dryer.  (mind you our previous washer was over 20yrs old, still running strong, MayTag).  Well I needed to do laundry and had no idea what so ever how the new washer worked.   :idk:  So he very slowly took the 14 steps down to the lower level of the house, sat in a chair, directed me how to sort the clothes, put in the detergent and set the washer.   .  Of course he had to make a smart comment to the fact that I may be an excellent Nurse, but I suck at doing laundry     Not exactly my forte', but that's why I married him....so I didn't have to do laundry     So all that being said & done, very slowly back up the 14 steps & back to his recliner.  At least he helped folding the clothes once they were dry.  Of course we had a great laugh about the fact I didn't know how to work the washer.

But it was a big accomplishment that he was able to do the 14 steps down & up, slowly, but he did them without any discomfort, pain or shortness of breath and I did take his vital signs afterwards and they were great, no signs of the heart straining to compensate.  Jeff says each day getting around gets a little easier, but I do know he's starting to get cabin fever.  Once he's able to do the steps with ease, than he'll be able to go out to the back yard & sit outside for awhile & not be cooped up in the house.

Thanks again to all for their support & words of encouragement.

Hey Folks - Rogue here this afternoon - AKA Mr Gxpsy Rose. I've enjoyed reading all of your posts and certainly do appreciate every one of them. Thank you.    When I got up this morning it felt like I was shot out of a cannon. What a great feeling - almost like a quantum step forward in the healing process.  :dancing: The good news - I was able to shower by myself,  :yay: the bad news - I was able to shower by myself.  :gaah: The good news - I was able to climb a flight of stairs without any strain. :yay: The bad news - it was only one flight of stairs.  :gaah: I'm still practicing on that second flight...but don't worry about me...I'm highly motivated to get that second flight accomplished soon.   :poke:  ;)

Again, thank you for all of the kind thoughts, words, and prayers. They really do help

UPDATE:  Well yesterday, I took Jeff out to Lunch to his favorite restaurant.  Food was great, he had the fresh grilled catfish sandwich & I had the pulled pork.  He's navigating the stairs with little to no issues, but still taking it easy.
Today we went up to Chippenham Hospital, as his older brother was having an angiogram as his stress test was OK, not great but OK, but his blood pressure was over 200.  We went as moral & emotional support.  The angiogram showed mild blockage in a couple of the tertiary vessels, but the primary & secondary vessels were great, no blockage, no cardiac cath or open heart surgery for him  :yay:  :dancing:
All the doctor is going to do is put him on stronger blood pressure med & change his cholesterol med & told him he needs to lose some more weight  :(  .  This was a relief for us all. :ghug: He'll be going home later this evening.
Of course we all had to tease them both (Jeff & his brother) about their sibling rivalry & that this needed to stop

It is amazing the number of our friends who had been putting off their physicals have now all scheduled appointments with their doctors as they were shocked that of all people Jeff was not the one they expected.   :poke:

His recuperation has been great, he's continued to have a great attitude & kept his sense of humor throughout this ordeal.  He does get a little frustrated at times, but that's okay & it's to be expected, but each day a new progress is made.

He's main goal now is doing two flights of stairs with no pain, strain or shortness of breath  ;)

Again thanks to all for the concerns, support, & prayers

Sounds like you guys are getting out and about now.  Wow, that is great and sure glad you got to take Jeff to his favorite eating place.  Not to beat a
:bdh:  but my wife is a nurse at K.U. Medical Center, now she is working in Administration after a promotion years ago.  Well, to cut to the chaise,  she took me to the doctor nearly 15 years ago for a routine physical, and the Doc said, Ron you have got to loose 30 pounds, we have got to get your cholesterol down.  He set my target weight at 192 pounds as I weighed in at 222 pounds.  So, I lost it very slowly over many months.  I now try to stay around 192 and it is hard because I really enjoy BBQ etc.  Well, all of my health issues disappeared with the weight loss and cholesterol lowering medication.  The point is I feel much better with more energy.  Sorry about this rambling but if it helps Jeff to maintain good health that's the purpose.
