Drilled and Slotted Rotors
« on: July 08, 2009, 11:03:48 PM »
OK, so while at the National, I bid on and won a set of drilled and slotted rotors donated by GMR.

Took the time today to install them.

Tools required: The removal of the front calipers was made with basic hand tools, nothing special was needed I believe two bolts were 13 and 2 bolts were 15 MM. To remove the rotor itself does require the removal of a single Torx headed screw. Size T-30.

The removal of the rear caliper requires a #7 Metric Allen head wrench, or socket...I used a socket, and it also had 2 15 or 16 MM headed bolts as well.

All in all, took about an hour to swap out the front and rear rotors.

I think they look snazzy.

Nice! What brand are they, and what pads are you using with them?

As my car only has 10,000 miles on it, I just put the stock pads back on. Although the set did come with new pads...I will wait and use them when I wear out the stock ones....which probably will happen too damn fast....LOL.

As for the rotors....as stated, they were donated by GMR for the silent auction at the Nationals. I know they sell them on the GMR  web sight...but I have no idea what brand they are.

And to answer the previous questions....After putting them on, I just had time to drive the car around the block...no squeaks or chattering....If they do....I will post an update.

Sean....aka badbird.

:agree: That's why I don't buy the ones off eBay. The ones from SS will be done right, and most likely more expensive. They will eventually have 13" rotors for the front and back with brackets to make them work.

Yep I spent bucks on mine for my PT from RacingBrake and they are top notch all the way.. Good slotted and drilled rotors are not cheap but cheap rotors are not good..
