DDM Coil Cover Arrives!

Yep, just showed up yesterday. Pics are included.

The included stickers went to good use. The grey one went on my racing helmet, the black one was used to drop-shadow the one on the coil cover. It tore when I took the backing paper off, the fix isn't quite as noticeable as it is on the photo. Thanks DDM!

Looks cool!  Is the sound blanket still under there (I guess its a sound blanket - the piece of cloth lying on top of the engine under the stock cover)?

Nope, took it off. I too assumed it was a sound blanket. Why else would you wrap insulation on top of an engine, sealing the heat in?

Can you tell engine noise doesn't bother me? :P

Glad it doesn't bother you.  I assume this would be mechanical chatter instead of vroom, vroom.  Is it much louder?  If so, would the blanket still fit under there?

Well if you wanted to leave the blanket on, it would really fit OVER the coil cover.

As for noise, it is a little louder when you stand by the car with the hood open. Inside the car, if it's louder I can't tell.

Looks really nice...great idea with the drop shadowing.

I haven't noticed any more noise since removing the insualtion either, but I like hearing the motor so I guess it's because of that.
